freedom of depress

as i make my rounds through the mainstream media, i seem to have difficulty finding any coverage on 2 issues.. 2 issues that should the shoe be on the other foot, would be covered in 2 completely different manners. first, we have media whore cindy down in crawford.. making quite a scene for herself, fueled by the continuing, almost natalie holliway-like, coverage of her plight.. i thought to myself, where are the 1000's of families who are proud of their family service in the military.. where is the voice of the majority of the military on this subject. the latest polls i've seen show that 80%+ of all military families support the action in iraq. where is the voice of the majority in all of this coverage.. we all know where it is.. it's buried, ignored. those voices do not push forward the agenda of the major media outlets.. i look at people in my generation, they are now excited to have their own 'vietnam.' they get fed, day after day, lies and hyperbole from the lefty media to fuel their hatred of their own country.. while they happily protest, call names and (apparently) not go to work.. yet, this group slides farther and farther in to the minority.. almost unaware of the people surrounding them who disagree.. but should the shoe be on the other foot, and a family were to go have a vigil supporting the war, would they get the media circus ? would they get the support and free airtime ? absolutely not. the bias cannot be more thinly veiled.

and then there is the coverage of the able danger 'coverup' by the 9/11 commission. let's think back to how quickly cbs jumped on the forged documents on president bush.. let's remember how quickly newsweek ran with the gitmo torture (false) information.. yet, you cannot find a peep about this absolutely huge development. the 9/11 commission may have purposely buried material information about what caused the events of 9/11 ?? are you kidding me ?? that can't make the news ?? if newsweek can lead with bad information and 60 minutes can have a whole segment on a forgery, cannot the able danger information warrant a peep ?? apparently not. again, it's clear what happened when the shoe was on the other foot, but when the story is beneficial for this administration, the story is buried. fortunately, the american people see through this nonsense.. the declining viewership, sinking subscription numbers and falling advertising revenue tell the story.. yet, the lefties still deal in their own skewed world view, highly averse to the truth and oh so very loud with their mouths..

the end of an era..

moment of silence please.. calcutta is banning the rickshaw.

cindy sheehan update..

news flash: apparently cindy's antics have created some more domestic tremors - her husband of 28 years has filed for divorce.. details here

happy birthday, it was nice knowing you..

70 years ago we gained social security.. since then, the car, the airplane, the television have all improved. yet social security remains the same... i'm reasonably certain no one in my generation has any hope that social security will be around for our retirement.. but then again, most people in my generation won't be around for our own retirement..

do you know me... ?

you've probably heard her name bantered about in relationship to the 9/11 commission or the 'wall' her memo erected between the fbi and the cia.. but did you know that there now looks to be a purposeful relationship between the two ?? when jamie gorelick was placed on the 9/11 commission, many around the country cried foul.. how could this clinton insider, responsible for creating the wall of communication between agencies, be invited to be on this all important 9/11 commission. it's turning out that there were some pretty specific reasons she was chosen afterall. rep curt weldon, r-pa, has found some very disturbing oversights by the commission.. it turns out that the defense department, as a part of operation 'able danger' had identified mohammed atta along with 3 of his sidekicks back in 1999. as it turns out, some of the staffers on the 9/11 commission didn't find it neccessary to pass that on to the commission.

so let me get this straight - we had identified 4 of the hijackers in 1999, and that information was not deemed worthy to put in front of the commission ?!? but wait.. it turns out the information DID make it in front of the commission and they just ignored it. now why in the world would a commission ignore such information.. commission moutpiece al felzenberg first said the commission never saw this information, and that weldon was a crackpot. then, when that wouldn't float in the face of the truth, he changed his mind to say that well, maybe we did hear this name mohammed atta.. and now it's just that the information they had did not match the timeline they had constructed for themselves.. so, intelligence that conflicted with a commission of political partisans is just discarded.. neat.

let's examine a few things that have gone on since then - we had sandy burger (former clinton national security advisor), panties and bra full of papers sneaking out with classified documents.. (sandy, who was in the pocket of the chinese and the ultimate clinton insider) we have gorelick on the 9/11 commission - and we could infer, with no proof yet, that she tried to cover up this information because of this wall she constructed between intelligence organizations back in 1995.. and how does all of that roll up ?? well, we've got burger, arranging a campaign finance deal with china and gorelick puts the wall up to, in effect, put an end in to investigations in to those 'illegal' campaign contribution issues.. and with all of the kicking and screaming from other attorneys across the land, it became policy and we end up with the infrastructure that prevented the intelligence exchange that led to... but i digress.. and we could even possibly infer a little bit more on the china side - as they have just fielded their own AEGIS warships with 'stolen' (aquired from a front company that the navy did business with during the 92-00 timeframe) technology from the usa. just what was sandy getting out of that document repository anyway ?? so we maybe, could, possibly infer that there is something more to this than a simple oversight. the defense department has these terrorists under observation for 2 YEARS and can't pass the information to the FBI due to the gorelick wall. (not only couldn't pass it, there were lawyers who became involved and told them to put sticky notes over their faces.. to forget that they even know anything about them)

this has the potential to flare up nicely, however, i don't think we'll get much mainstream media coverage as it doesn't fit as nicely in to the news directors agenda.. keep an eye on curt weldon from pa., i have a feeling he's not going to let this go.. and where it ends up, well, it could be quite interesting.

August 15, 2005

today begins the forced removal of jewish settlements in gaza. this is the first give away of jewish land since israel first became a state in 1948. unfortunately, this action will do nothing but validate terrorism in the region. israel has held this land since 1967, after the 6 day war.. and now, caving in to international (and some internal) pressure, israel is giving up the gaza strip. this withdrawl is going to result in even more terrorist attacks, even more international pressure and even more jewish land given away. this is a disasterous policy for the jewish state. they will be squeezed more and more and their borders will eventually become indefensible. the palestenains, hiding behind their desire for an equal and separate state, truely hope for one thing - the eventual destruction of the jewish state altogether. there is no desire for an on-going dialog or relations. as a matter of fact, it's already been stated no jews can live in the new palestenian state, even if they chose to do so.. yet palestenians are welcomed in to israel to do business and commerce.. stopped only due to the ongoing suicide bombings. now, as israel forces out settlers, who have come from the four corners of the earth, all of the terror groups in the region are celebrating. hundreds of supporters of the militant islamic jihad group celebrated in gaza city on sunday, with gunmen firing in the air, and teens setting off firecrackers and distributing candy. the violent hamas group organized special midnight prayers of thanks at gaza mosques.. that right there should tell you all you need to know. the terrorists are happy.. and yet another bad day for the only democracy in the middle east.. unfortunately, one of what is destined to be many bad days for israel.

shameful

this entire cindy sheehan publicity stunt is leaving me thrououghly sick to my stomach.. this woman, disgracing her son's death for her own personal political ego.. shameful indeed. the veil of her 'greiving mother' act is transparent to say the least.. and now, as if her demands to meet with g-dub AGAIN weren't enough, she's now splashing her political opinions out for all to see.. first it was the president killing her son (note the first person implication) and now it's the damn jews who killed her son.. her statement:

"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by a George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11.
We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedoms and democracy...not for the real reason, because the Arab-Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy. That hasn't changed since America invaded and occupied Iraq...in fact it has gotten worse. You get America out of
Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism"

well now we've got it, she not only hates america, she hates the dadgum jews too. now how can the only democracy in the middle east be to blame for this ? she joins the ever growing group of people who think the jews have taken over the government and are running the usa. oh, and also responsible for 9/11 and everything else.. next, cindy will be burning books and gassing folks. truly amazing.. and if that wasn't enough, more of these folks with no jobs and a furvent hate for america are showing up in crawford.. so much that the president's neighbor decided to practice up for dove season and send the peace loving jew haters scrambling for cover.. (i hear they all chipped in to hire lawyers to keep him from shooting guns on his own property.. ok, maybe i made that up, but don't be surprised if it happens..) besides, i can't think of anything much better than a bunch of lefty peaceniks hanging out around rural texas for the opening of DOVE SEASON. so appropriate.

i'm curious where the mainstream media coverage is of all the families (including her own) that support the president and support the war and support what is going on in iraq. as a matter of fact, here is an IRAQI who is telling her to shush it.

oh, and lets not forget the statements from her family:

Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son’s good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

so, the most important thing here is to understand where sweet cindy is coming from -- she wants to progress her political agenda with the blood of her poor son. sickening & shameful.. she has championed the 'stealing of the election' in 2000 cry from the left.. she is actively involved in john conyers impeachment campaign against president bush.. read her open letter to president bush:

“It has been seven months since your ignorant and arrogant lack of planning for the peace murdered my oldest child. It has been two days since your dishonest campaign stole another election…but you all were way more subtle this time than in 2000, weren’t you? You hardly had to get the Supreme Court of the United States involved at all this week...”

“... You feel so proud of yourself for betraying the country again, don’t you? You think you are very clever because you pulled the wool over the eyes of some of the people again. You think that you have some mandate from God…that you can “spend your political capital” any way that you want. George you don’t care or even realize that 56,000,000 plus citizens of this country voted against you and your agenda. Still, you are going to continue your ruthless work of being a divider and not a uniter. George, in 2000 when you stole that election and the Democrats gave up, I gave up too. I had the most ironic thought of my life then: "Oh well, how much damage can he do in four years?" Well, now I know how much you have damaged my family, this country, and this world. If you think I am going to allow you another four years to do even more damage, then you truly are mistaken. I will fight for a true vote count and if that fails, your impeachment. Also, the impeachment of your Vice President...”

“...George, I must confess that I and my family worked very HARD to re-defeat you this time, but you refuse to stay defeated. Well, we are watching you very carefully. We are going to do everything in our power to have you impeached for misleading the American people into a disastrous war and for mis-using and abusing your power as Commander-in-Chief.”

having met with her once already, (when her tune was considerably different) - why would a president want to meet with someone like this again ?? and frankly, what makes her voice any more valid than the 1000's of others in the same shoes that disagree completely with her point of view ?? her son, who volunteered to be a brave soldier, would be saddened (to say the least) to see what should be a legacy of heroism marred by the misuse of his name to champion the causes he went to defeat..

don't be fooled by her outward stance, on the keith olberman show on msnbc (total audience 4) she said that she actually didn't want the president to meet with her.. what ?!

transcript: (and thanks to the laura ingraham show for bringing this to my attention)

Keith: “It’s pure politics, the nature of the media coverage you’re getting now…From the perspective of your protest there, in a way isn’t it really better if President Bush doesn’t meet with you?”
Sheehan:I would think so, yeah.. I think it’s great. If he were to come out right now, I think it would diffuse the momentum, but I don’t want to give them any hints. And, I think that’s something they’ve probably already thought about. But, we’re here, we’re committed and we’re staying. In fact, we’re staying here the whole month of August…..”

she now doesn't want the president to meet with her ?? so why is she in crawford again ?? publicity stunt, media whore.. ok, i remember again..

zima + red bull =

for those of you who need a good solid caffiene kick in your malt beverage of choice - let me introduce you to tilt. tilt is the new product from Anheuser-Busch - aimed at lighting up the night sky of the red bull crowd.. all of the dainty smirnoff ice imbibers may be inclined to take a swig from the machined aluminum can of tilt.. to add an edge to their previously freux freux persona...

satan's pizza..

it's official - in new zealand, you can get hell's pizza. a little different than 'satan's' pizza' down in austin, but apparently just as hellish. one ad line says of g-dub, 'hell: too good for some evil bastards.' even their phone number has made a point of including the good ol 666 prefix.. well, we can all rest better that the advertising for pizza has gone to new depths down under.. i wonder if heaven's pizza will have an effigy of, oh, say, ted kennedy with a halo..

you are my sunshine..

typically, when you hear of a new energy bill being signed in to law, you think of things like fuel cells, drilling in in the arctic, natural gas field development, hybrid cars.. but do you really think about daylight savings time ?? i sure don't, but now.. as of today, with g-dub signing the new legislation, our rules of engagement with daylight savings time has changed !! starting in 2007, daylight savings time will start 3 weeks earlier and end a week later. in theory, this will require you to use less light in your house.. (unless, of course, you're like me and leave lights on 24/7/365 whether home or not) well, this will CERTAINLY help the kids trick-or-treating.. they'll have more time before it gets dark.. so think of the benefits to dentists and orthodontists country wide.. i can't think of a downside.. well, maybe just this.. it now appears if all of our favorite technology companies are going to have to change the way they do business. windows, VCRs, cell phones.. everything with a calendar in it is going to go boom. there will have to be patches distributed, there will have to be changes made -- and don't forget, if our friends in canada and mexico don't go along, our timezones won't match up for 4 weeks out of the year.. creating a whole new subset of timezones to navigate.. so next time you get in you gas guzzling SUV, think about your sins against humanity and feel shame..

dirty harry..

harry belafonte has determined that the black folks in the bush administration aren't 'good enough' black folks. in an interview with CNSNews.com, harry decided to state that the likes of condi rice and colin powell were 'black tyrants.' this on the heels of his prior comparison to colin powell as a 'house slave.' so, i'm not sure how black is black enough for good old harry.. oh, but right when you thought he might be done, he had more to say.. harry decided to add his own take on history by saying, 'hitler had a lot of jews high up in the hierarchy of the third reich..' i'm not sure about you, but with a policy of ethnic extermination against jews, to the tune of countless MILLIONS.. chances are slim that hitler had his inner circle of jews providing him guidance. but hey, i've heard everything is the jews fault in this world.. so maybe harry knows more about history than the rest of us.. that being said, i'm sure harry feels very comfortable with the 'blame it all on the jews crowd' i think he and david duke are planning a rally soon.

just so you're aware..

canadian's get it straight..

well, i think my opinions of our good friends to the north are well established and communicated among my friends.. but now, i must finally admit that their forward thinking social policies have made me appreciate them even more.. in the race to be the most politically correct and socially forward nation on earth, canada now allows 'same sex' marriage. (please note i did not say 'gay' marriage) it's starting to turn out that straight canadian men are looking at getting married for the tax benefits !!! from the ottowa sun:

--Bill Dalrymple, 56, and best friend Bryan Pinn, 65, have decided to take the plunge and try out the new same-sex marriage legislation with a twist -- they're straight men.
"I think it's a hoot," Pinn said.
The proposal came last Monday at a Toronto bar amid shock and laughter from their friends. But the two -- both of whom were previously married and both of whom are looking for a good woman to love -- insist that after the humour subsided, a real issue lies at the heart of it all.
"There are significant tax implications that we don't think the government has thought through," Pinn said.
Dalrymple has been to see a lawyer already and there are no laws in marriage that define sexual preference. --

well, once again, i must hand it to the canadians for being socially progressive.. they're gonna cost themselves tax money because of all the hockey bachelors are gonna marry one another, eh.. but hey, they'll still have free health care and polar bears..

pretty pictures..

well, as i have known a few people in life who have decided to walk down this path.. i figure that it never hurts to remind people of what this crap does to you. it's sad to watch people with much potential throw their lives away for something so silly, but it seems to be more and more prevalent. being someone who likes to sleep in, i don't see any value of something that keeps you up for days at a time.. apparently staying up for this long is bad for your complexion too. i'm guessing that these folks aren't the target audience for oil of olay products, but they sure could use some. i wonder if public assistance will help them clear up this premature aging issue. i think amino-peptides would really help with the wrinkles..
some of those before and after pictures are shocking... and just like the peter jennings story - if you're smoking this crap, it's prolly time to quit.

and i will bless those...

who bless you.. and i will curse him who curses you. this verse from Genesis seems to be particularly relevant today. (and yes, i'm about to go religious on you) there has been no greater lightning rod for opinions since 1948 than the state of Israel. given a slice of malaria infested swampland splashed with barren desert, the Jews came out of the 4 corners of the world to inhabit the land originally given to them. this is the literal fulfillment of the dry bones prophesy by ezekiel and the fig tree parable by Jesus. having been scattered across the globe for 1500 years, the Jews came back to the homeland of abraham. what makes all of this even more interesting are the related scriptures discussing the implications of the regathering of Jews in their old homeland. based on this information, i'm concerned with the direction george w is taking with Israel. forcing the state to give back land in gaza and now up next to lebanon as part of this 'road map' concerns me.. we're forcing the state of Israel to give back land originally granted by God. understanding that we are the lone superpower in the world, from our perspective this may seem as a small item.. giving land away for peace.. but taken in a biblical sense, this is very troublesome water to be navigating. and logically, it's a difficult sell as well.. why are we asking the ONLY democracy in the middle east to give back land it rightfully won in multiple wars forced upon them to people who would send their sons and daughters tp blow themselves up in malls and on busses. a group of people with no history of an actual national identity (until 1967, 'palestenians' were jordanian or egyptian) and with no proven ability to control it's own people. we want to force the only democracy to accept our plan to give away their land to people with the sole purpose of killing each and every one of them. as a matter of fact, no jews would be allowed in a palestenian state by law.. yet, palestenians could come and go in Israel proper. outside of the lack of logic this contains, this also sets the united states in the awkward position of, for one of the first times, not doing what is in the best interest of Israel.. we started down that path in 1993 with the oslo accords, but now, we are driving the abandonment of God given territory to the sworn enemy of the Jewish state.. and that brings us back to Genesis 12:3.. 'and i will bless those who bless you. and i will curse those who curse you. ' the united states has been blessed more than any country in the histroy of the world.. blessed with innovation.. security.. monetary wealth beyond compare.. but as the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected.. i'm concerned that we're off track with relation to Israel.. and with relationship to their God given claim to that land.

Oklahoma Football - Practice Starts Today

Boomer Sooner !!

stars align..

tom hicks sucks it up, and modano stays a dallas star. can we please play hockey again..

celebrate good times..

the headline reads: Democrats celebrate narrow U.S. House loss in Ohio
i don't know about you, but there was a time in this country where political parties reserved the champagne and celebrations for winning elections.. "Every Republican in Congress should consider himself put on notice," Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel said..

you got it rahm.. you lose, we're on notice.

beware crusader alliance..

our buddy aymen al-zawahiri is back in black (turban) and threatening the crusader alliance with more death and destruction. as i look at this picture, it kinda reminds me of raffy's testimony infront of congress concerning his use of steroids - note his finger pointing.. but i digress. so al-zawahiri tells everyone that "you will not be safe until you withdraw from our land, stop stealing our oil and wealth and stop supporting the corrupt rulers." there is also the customary complaint about israel and bringing security to palestine. i'm pretty sure that means the destruction of israel in his mind... so al-zawahiri opines about more blood in london and more american casualties in iraq.. the only interesting thing about these words from him is the timing.. typically these types of messages are the forerunner of another terrorist attack of some significance. this becomes the beacon, the bat signal, so to speak, for folks to go blow things up. he threatened britain specifically.. so i guess we can sit back and see if something more sinister unfolds. although, it appears as if the greater part of europe is fed up with the radical imam population.. i see where italy, france and britain are expelling radical imams from their shores.. damn the aclu for not having a european branch.. i'm sure some civil liberties are being trampled on with this expulsion stuff.

war.. huh.. yeah.. what is it good for ?!?

where is edwin starr anyway.. ?

100 million Christians.. in china ?

the washington times is reporting that there may be more Christians in china than members of the communist party. china is obviously a statistical anomoly since there are well over a billion people there, but still, it's encouraging to see so many people there break out of the atheist communist doctrine. this probably means there will be some major crackdown at some point.. but for the short term, it's great news to hear !!

bring on the rain !!

i'm officially sick of 100 degree days, hazy colorless skies and sweating in traffic..

hello mr. president..

dateline: august 3.. i awoke to 4 municipal police departments locking down my neighborhood and surrounding haunts.. apparently the president is in town today to talk at the good gaylord texan. we have snipers and tactical units and secret service and 4 police departments keeping watch.. i'm thinking that if you're going to speed around town, today is the day. everyone seems to be keeping the president company. i'm wondering if my boat marina is locked down too ?!?

august 6, 1945/2005

there seems to be some conjecture that our friend osama bin laden is looking to attack the usa on 8/6, the 60th anniversary of when hiroshima was bombed by the usa.. this attack is purported to include a multiple city nuclear attack by al qaida.. well, as far as i can tell, august 6th is on a saturday this year.. which means that's typically a lake day here in texas.. one article i read indicated the cities he was looking at attacking - choosing the ones with the highest number of jews living in them.. new york, miami, washington, etc..

it will be interesting to see if this unfolds.. there was some mathmatical explanation as to why this date fit with 9/11 and the year it is in islam.. i'm not sold. but hey, if it goes down, don't say i didn't tell ya.. i'll be out on the lake keeping a very close eye on the situation.. lol

the gift that keeps giving...

jimmy.. jimmy.. please stop talking. your incompetence as president is only exceeded by the ignorance spilling from your mouth.. your irrelevance is so overwhelming that it's hard to even remember you WERE president.. but just to keep reminding us of your disasterous 4 years in office, you've joined the whole blame america first crowd.. saying gitmo is a disgrace, having never gone there... and that the us cannot hold fair elections without un observers.. (but venezuela sure can).. sitting around, yucking it up with michael moore at the dnc convention.. your published opinions should have ended with your inept presidency.. yet, here we are 30 years later having to read your nonsensical, uninformed, biased words.. always looking to drive your personal agenda since being so embarrassed by you worthless time in office.

cubano loco

raffy, raffy, raffy.. how did those steroids make it in to your picadillo criollo ??

teed off in cali..

this just in.. (it headlined the news blurb i just saw on tv..) you'll be glad to know that domestic partners now legally have the same right as married partners at country clubs in california.. in koebke v. bernardo heights country club, the california supreme court found the lamda legal group provided compelling 'oral arguments' and 'briefs'.. and the california court has decided this lesbian couple should lead the way for all lesbian couples to furiously chase balls across neatly groomed greens and fairways.. giggle.

you can sleep easy...

hillary driving a garbage truck.. neat

in fahd we trust..

well.. not that he's done much for some while, but this whole king fahd dying thing is really going to put a crunch on my gas budget.. i'm looking and it says oil is up to $62/barrell. now, i don't know about you, but this suv driving texan has had just about enough of $500+ per month gas bills.. i'm about to trade in the good ol xterra and downsize.. exacerbating this oil spike, we have our friends the iranians who are taking off all of the seals from their nuclear equipment.. basically rendering worthless the debating group of 3 in the eu.. iran now wants a non-agression pact. but, again, we have to wonder what a country with such proven energy reserves needs nuclear power for. especially when considered in the context knowing that one of the mullah's went on pontificating that it would only take 2 nuclear weapons to rid themselves of that pesky little democratic state full of jews, israel. it's funny (read:sad) to me that when someone like that says something like that, it's dismissed.. when a chinese general pontificates that they may just strike the us first with nuclear weapons, it's dismissed as silly.. yet when anyone in this administration says something that might just possibly be taken out of context, we have to apologize to the world. dear terrorists, we're sorry for calling you terrorists. please accept that we also mentioned islam when describing the terrorists. we understand that the odds of terrorist attacks are just like a coin flip.. they reset each and every time one occurs and there are no lessons we can learn from these coin flips of fate..
speaking of fate, if ever there was someone the un didn't want to have in their midst, it's this guy john bolton.. if it wasn't enough to threaten his brothers music on the endless debating society, i'm reasonably certain that the oil for food guys aren't going to appreciate the accountability he places on that body. when i pull out my crystal ball, i can see this being the beginning of the end of the US involvement in the un. once the corruption is shown to be at the highest levels of the useless global body, we'll see the US funding dry up and the group start to wither away.. which will be a blessing to the less fortunate of the world.. under kofi's leadership, we've have mulitple genocide occurances, we've tried to feed the poor iraqi's by cutting side deals with saddam to rebuild his military and we've seen international terrorism reach new heights. oh yeah, we've also seen 3rd world countries with countless human rights abuses lead up the commission on human rights. good move.. they can certainly spot human rights when they see em.. and quickly snuff em out.. weeeeeeee. lets kill lots of people, blame the US for not enuff aid and then go work on the un human rights commission.. nothing at all wrong with the un.

i am coming to get you..

i wanted to send you the face of political correctness - i think i saw him championing gay marriage, the removal of the 10 commandments and chairing up the local ACLU meeting.. that and i enjoy spamming my friends with this picture via camera phone.
i think i'm gonna take him on the subway with me next time..

helen thomas shocker..

i think the most shocking news story of last week had to be that helen thomas has indicated she would kill herself if dick cheney were to run for president... now for those of you who don't know the lovely, fair and beautiful ms thomas (see picture), she is a mainstay at white house press conferences.. the matriarch of the lefty hate press.. republican basher supreme.

what makes this all so very shocking is remebering that she's alive to begin with.. if at first glance you didn't note the embalming fluid coarsing through her veins.. surely when the voice of satan rings out, you know, she is undead..
but, i guess not. so dick.. i'm gonna head up your campaign.. i think we need signs with helen's mug on them to stick on every street corner.. and i think there's probably a catchy campaign slogan hidden in there too.. i'm just afraid that it's another empty promise from the soul-less lefties.. all talk, they are.

the value of life in america..

ok, so it's been a while since i went blogging.. but all of this partial birth abortion, feeding tube, death penalty nonsense has finally brought me to a steady boil.

so, let me get this right.. in the united states we value the life of a convicted felon more than we do of an innocent woman who suffered brain damage. one half of the country would have you believe that the death penalty is a crime against humanity.. that making enemy combatants wear underwear on their head is punishable by impeachment of the president.. yet allowing an innocent brain damaged woman to die by starvation and/or dehydration is just a-ok. it's also a-ok to have an abortion in the third trimester (partial birth) in order to discard an unwanted pregnancy. so the rights of the innocent are insignificant, yet the rights of the condemned or convicted are inalienable. i find it just short of amazing that scott peterson will be kept alive for 20+ years during appeal after appeal to make sure that his life is worth taking, yet a woman who cannot speak for herself is having a decision made that will take her life in one of the most horrific manners possible - starvation and dehydration.

so, now the ethical question arises, if her father feels that this manner of death is inhumane and because of court order he can no longer FEED his daughter or GIVE HER WATER.. then if he were to, lets say, shoot her, to keep her from dying a slow miserable death - would he be charged with murder ?? what a strange world we now live in where the court can order a person to die and also charge someone for killing her.

frankly the judiciary in this country has completely lost it's sense of balance and perspective. they are making constitutional law as if the meaning of the constitution is legislated by public opinion.. or even WORSE - WORLD OPINION. the recent ruling banning the execution of minors in the united states was made from what constitutional principle ? none. if you read the majority decision it clearly states the rationale was to bring us in line with the rest of the world. frankly, being in line with the rest of the world is not what i hope for from the greatest country on the planet.. we are great because we have led by guiding principles and vision. when we decide that we want to adhere to what the rest of the world wants, we've lost.. unfortunately, we're being guided by activist judges.. and a now activist supreme court. i don't think that there is any question why the left side of the political sphere is fighting so vehemently to prevent George Bush's judicial nominations from getting a vote.. (don't forget, they're not voting them down, they are PREVENTING any vote at all) let's hear it for democracy in the democratic party..

religion on the rant..

for anyone who enjoys a taste of saturday morning darkness on the ticket, this is what i wrote to gordo during some of his religion discussions the other saturday morning - and his response..

----------------------------------------
I read the whole thing!

On 1/22/05 12:09 PM, "David Neill" wrote:
g k- as i'm listening to my favorite radio show this morning, i felt compelled to write a couple of things..

never truly understanding whether you're discussing a subject from a personal viewpoint or from the other side of it, i figured it would be worth a second of bandwidth to discuss Christianity..

i understand you're the son of a baptist minister and i'm sure you understand the basis of Christianity -that all salvation is through the son of God and the price he paid on the cross..however, it never hurts to revisit that discussion.

all mankind falls short of the glory of God. this goes all the way back to the garden of eden. once sin was introduced, there was a chasm between man and God. how do you reconcile sin with a just and perfect God ?? you cannot, unless God provides a path to forgiveness. God did that in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. a perfect man had to die to reconcile the gap between mortal, sinful man and a perfect and just God.

i think this is why most people have a sense of dislike and fear of the Bible being the inerrant inspired word of God. if so, it creates a dilemma for the intelligent human. 'i'm too smart to buy in to this whole deity thing.. ' pretty common these days..

a point you just made was that there are really good people who are not believers and really bad people who are.. and that is right. the unfortunate thing is that those really good people, by denying the path to their salvation, will fall short of heaven. those really bad people, through their faith in Jesus, will find it.. even if it is by hair on their chinny chin chin... (did i just say that ?) There are no works that can get you to heaven. There is only one way and that is through the grace of God and the blood of his son Jesus Christ.

just like the bible, we can argue whether this is fair and right in your mind.. however, if you are a Christian, you understand there is only one path to heaven- Christ.

if you look at the bible, there is nothing that has been proven inaccurate in that book. from babylon to ninevah, to the passover - things that were argued as myth have been proven right every time..

if you look at the sermon on the mount, the book of daniel.. look at what was talked about way back then concerning the dispersion and regathering of the Jews. more fantasy, said to not be taken as prophetic truth, but as an allegory to the church or to another time. . we're watching the regathering of the Jews to their homeland before our eyes. this is the match to the fig tree parable from Jesus. Israel is the prophetic timeclock for God. As the Jews are his chosen people, all of his revelations to man come through the Jews.

the Bible can be used justify just about anything based on the 'interpretation' of the words in it. i think that is where the view that the bible is the paper to see the 'invisible man' is a wrong assumption. if you don't take the Bible as the inspired word of God and you start making your own interpretations of the events, it can be twisted any way you want it. if you take a common sense view of the Bible at face value, you get the message.

concerning the gay issue you're discussing - we all fall short of the glory of God. that is why we have the blood of Jesus to forgive our sins. Christians should take a stand against sin in all facets in life.. we all fall short of our responsibilities in this area. not just gays or any other specified group i do feel that Christians can take an exclusive path to spreading the gospel.. being judgmental. it's a difficult path in some instances. human nature is to want to be better than the next guy.. we should instead all understand that we all fall short of the glory of God and worry less about how we size up against our neighbor. Jesus' last words before ascending to heaven said to love your neighbor as yourself and to trust in him (Jesus) as your path to the Father. i think that a lot of Christians can do a better job of the first. that being said, accepting sinful behavior isn't something that can be reconciled.

the difference in your example between divorce and being gay is that there is actual scriptural basis for a divorce. i think a better argument would be pre-marital sex v gay sex. there is no difference. divorce happens once or twice or in liz taylors case, a bunch of times.. but it's not a daily act of defiance or sin. premarital and homosexual sex is. it's living in defiance. we all make mistakes, we all work to be better people, but we'll never get it right.. but we can never stop trying.

i think it's an exciting time to be alive - all of these things unfolding before our eyes.. Israel, the reunification of europe, the United States making strong moral stands on issues. it's exciting !!

hope you have a great weekend !
take care,

-d

a total iraqi failure..

i was reading the headlines a moment ago and it sure sounds like this whole iraqi voting thing is going to be a waste of time.. no one over there wants elections, no one feels safe.. there are too many factions that can't get along for this to work.. too many bombings and shootings and trips to paradise for would be allahphytes.. then i ran across this nugget..
http://washingtontimes.com/world/20050119-101413-1954r.htm

now, i don't know about you, but his sure doesn't sound like the iraq i hear and read about every day.. i decided to go back and check the cnnmsnbcabcnewscbsnews.coms of the world and i didn't even find a mention of it. so i went to the newyorktimeslatimeswashingtonpost.coms of the world and found nary a mention of it there either..

to me, this is wonderful progress. i would presume this is newsworthy for americans.. we are afterall funding the rebuilding of iraq and this whole democratic situation.. this sure looks like a positive step forward to me.. why in the world would we not want to report on it..

odd.

it seems to go along with the assessment that LTC Tim Ryan had of the iraq situation.. he's in iraq.. his thoughts are here: LTC Thoughts

who's pulling for who in this darn thing.. seems like we have a bunch of americans who say that in the best interest of americans we want to see more americans dead.. that just doesn't make sense.. of course, all of the blue state bluster doesn't make sense either.. and alas we have our answer.

and in other presidential news..

it's starting to look like the georgia blowhard, jimmy carter, has ties to the un oil for food scandal.. now how this fine upstanding pillar of the democratic party (who shared his seat at the dnc convention with michael moore) could get tied up in such a thing is simply astounding. ** link: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=42464

we certainly would not be led to believe that all of his anti george bush vitriol and all of his iraq war grandstanding might be linked to the fact that he had been working to keep saddam in power all along.. very interesting, jimmy. somehow or another jimmy found time for this in between observing that the us elections are rigged and the ones he monitors in 3rd world countries are certified. jimmy, be quiet. go softly into the night..

the worst president in the history of my lifetime keeps sliding down his own slippery slope..

God Bless America

say what you want about george w bush, but i'm glad he's the guy in the oval office. he possesses something that most politicians don't.. balls. it's good to see someone leading our country that isn't so concerned about what other people think that he is paralyzed and can't take action.. in the sea of PC nonsense, we have someone who, for the most part, will call a spade a spade.

so, on happy inauguration day to everyone !! and God bless America !!

a boxer & a kennedy

these two jokers.. aww shucks..
this duo of barb and teddy are certainly 'blue bloods' from their respective 'blue states'
how anyone in either ma or ca vote for these kids is beyond me.. i mean, to hear teddy talk about the president 'drowning out' people during his speech on TV back on 1/14.. amazing. not that teddy isn't an expert on drowning out.. but come on. and don't his speech writers remember how teddy drowns out people ?? maybe the president should take his advice.. and this boxer cat.. are you kidding me ?? how she's even allowed to talk in public confounds me.. even more confounding is why anyone would listen. her nonsense of grandstanding on the count of electoral votes because of ohio irregularities combined with her berating of condi rice today.. disgraceful. condi has done more for this country than boxer will ever hope to do.. her hypocrisy is sickening. as if kennedy talking about other people doing the drowning wasn't bad enough.. but, i guess when you have no pride, being a disgrace is not such a big deal. further evidence that ca & ma are not high on my places to live.. (as if any more was needed)

today, i saw john kerry talking about how his election was stolen and how black voters in ohio were made to stand in line 11 hours to vote.. john kerry, please go back to windsurfing and spending the money your wife got from her dead republican husband after he was killed.. man, there is nothing like marrying a billionaire, having him die off just so you can go marry a senator on the other side of the aisle.. good plan for that 'continental african.' john, you lost. have some self pride.. go gently into the night. i can only hope that he doesn't grow a beard and pound on podiums like our little buddy al gore did. (and hopefully there are no more pictures taken of him either trying to throw or catch a football)

go deep, john.. keep going..
