ice cream for allah..

well well well.. we have now reached new depths in islamic pc behavior.. according to scotsman.com, burger king has been threatened by jihad for having an ice cream lid that looks too much like the symbol for allah.. here is the story:

Burger King recalls 'sacrilegious' desserts JOHN INNES
THE fast-food chain, Burger King, is withdrawing its ice-cream cones after the lid of the dessert offended a Muslim.
The man claimed the design resembled the Arabic inscription for Allah, and branded it sacrilegious, threatening a "jihad".

The chain is being forced to spend thousands of pounds redesigning the lid with backing from The Muslim Council of Britain. It apologised and said: "The design simply represents a spinning ice-cream cone."
The offending lid was spotted in a branch in Park Royal last week by business development manager Rashad Akhtar, 27, of High Wycombe.
He was not satisfied by the decision to withdraw the cones and has called on Muslims to boycott Burger King. He said: "This is my jihad. How can you say it is a spinning swirl? If you spin it one way to the right you are offending Muslims."
A Muslim Council spokesman said: "We commend the sensitive and prompt action that Burger King has taken."

well, i can just see it now.. waves of suicide bombers attacking burger kings around the world to defend the honor of allah (the 'all powerful' *cough* *wheeze*) because a lid to an ice cream product has something that may (or may not) look like a symbol representing this arabian moon god..

so, next time you 'spin your swirl', be sure not to do it to the right..

marga-RITA-ville..

couldn't resist.. anyway, rita looks to be making a migration toward key west and will make landfall soon.. for the fruitcakes trying to reason with the hurricane season, this is not the typical lovely cruise to that one particular harbor, it is instead sending them in the shelter and making them incommunicado while they wait for manana to get back to livin' it up.
the weather is here, wish you were beautiful.

hurricane cindy..

she couldn't stand not being the center of media attention, so cindy just had to visit the hurricane ravaged gulf coast.. she brought her considerable power to bear on the situation.. i'm not sure if she had the time or thought to channel her son's spirit again to get his take on the situation, but she sure was able to come up with some more absurd nonsense.. get this.. she's now calling new orleans an 'occupied' city.. her quote:

"George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power."

"I saw soldiers walking around in patrols of 7 with their weapons slung on their backs. I wanted to ask one of them what it would take for one of them to shoot me. Sand bags were removed from private property to make machine gun nests."

if she's not a disgrace to her son and his service to this country, i don't know who is.. she has lost all of her perspective in life and is literally lost.. she's now relegated to posting on michael moore's website.. all the cameras are off of her.. so she feels the need to interject herself where she does not belong.. i have a feeling her 15 minutes is very close to being up

g-dub writes a love note..

this picture is about to erupt on the world scene - apparently it's a picture of george bush writing a note to condi rice at the un meeting today.. i personally am thinking he's making a personal commentary of all the nonsense that comes out of that worthless, corrupt world body.. having to sit through that would certainly, at the minimum, give me a major case of gas.. it may have moved him in a different way..

it's somewhat sickening that we have to host this group of crooks and terrorists on our soil and listen to them denigrate the united states.. the fact this iranian clown can come over here, run off at the mouth about unilateralism and so on.. it's just sickening.. as if he has some position of moral authority to say a single thing to anyone about anything. he's gonna turn out to be a mess for us and that region.. mark my words.

anyway, you saw it here first.. the un makes g-dub sick to his stomach.. and me too.

the seattle rattle..

i have some important news for my friends up in the pacific northwest.. the next 2 weeks, you're on an 'earthquake watch'

live science is reporting that the chance of a major earthquake is 30 times more likely for the next two or so weeks..

from live science:

The slip began Sept. 3 on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State and has migrated north to the Vancouver Island area, Cassidy wrote. Victoria moved 0.12 inches (3 millimeters) to the West over the course of two days. The events are thought to last six to 15 days.
Cassidy's colleague, Stephane Mazzotti, has done some calculations on the odds of a large temblor.
"The probability of occurrence of a megathrust earthquake is about 30 times higher during this approximately two-week window, than during the rest of the 14.5 month cycle," Cassidy told LiveScience. "Having said that, 30 times a small number is still a small number."
Geologists simply don't know when one of these events will trigger a major quake, Cassidy said.
The immediate importance of the event is that it occurred as predicted and can now be used to improve understanding of the region's seismology.
"By better understanding these events, we will be able to better predict the effects (and perhaps timing) of future magnitude 9 earthquakes along the West Coast," Cassidy and his colleague write.
A
separate study recently concluded that a major earthquake along the fault could be overdue, given clusters of the events seen in the geologic record. Because the fault is offshore, scientists say its rupture could create a devastating tsunami.

the palestinian myth

a great piece that is worth re-reading..

"There are no Palestinians"
By Larry Miller
The Weekly Standard April 21, 2003

A brief overview of the situation is always valuable, so as a service to all Americans who still don't get it, I now offer you the story of the Middle East in just a few paragraphs, which is all you really need.

Don't thank me. I'm a giver. Here we go:

The Palestinians want their own country. There's just one thing about that: There are no Palestinians. It's a made up word. Israel was called Palestine for two thousand years. Like "Wiccan," "Palestinian" sounds ancient but is really a modern invention. Before the Israelis won the land in war, Gaza was owned by Egypt, and there were no "Palestinians" then, and the West Bank was owned by Jordan, and there were no "Palestinians" then. As soon as the Jews took over and started growing oranges as big as basketballs, what do you know, say hello to the "Palestinians," weeping for their deep bond with their lost "land" and "nation."

So for the sake of honesty, let's not use the word "Palestinian" any more to describe these delightful folks, who dance for joy at our deaths until someone points out they're being taped. Instead, let's call them what they are: "Other Arabs Who Can't Accomplish Anything In Life And Would Rather Wrap Themselves In The Seductive Melodrama Of Eternal Struggle And Death."

I know that's a bit unwieldy to expect to see on CNN. How about this, then: "Adjacent Jew-Haters." Okay, so the Adjacent Jew-Haters want their own country. Oops, just one more thing. No, they don't. They could've had their own country any time in the last thirty years, especially two years ago at Camp David. But if you have your own country, you have to have traffic lights and garbage trucks and Chambers of Commerce, and, worse, you actually have to figure out some way to make a living. That's no fun. No, they want what all the other Jew-Haters in the region want: Israel.

They also want a big pile of dead Jews, of course -- that's where the real fun is -- but mostly they want Israel. Why? For one thing, trying to destroy Israel - or "The Zionist Entity" as their textbooks call it -- for the last fifty years has allowed the rulers of Arab countries to divert the attention of their own people away from the fact that they're the blue-ribbon most illiterate, poorest, and tribally backward on God's Earth, and if you've ever been around God's Earth, you know that's really saying something.

It makes me roll my eyes every time one of our pundits waxes poetic about the great history and culture of the Muslim Mideast. Unless I'm missing something, the Arabs haven't given anything to the world since Algebra, and, by the way, thanks a hell of a lot for that one.

Chew this around and spit it out: Five hundred million Arabs; five million Jews.

Think of all the Arab countries as a football field, and Israel as a pack of matches sitting in the middle of it. And now these same folks swear that if Israel gives them half of that pack of matches, everyone will be pals.

Really? Wow, what neat news. Hey, but what about the string of wars to obliterate the tiny country and the constant din of rabid blood oaths to drive every Jew into the sea? Oh, that? We were just kidding.

My friend Kevin Rooney made a gorgeous point the other day: Just reverse the numbers. Imagine five hundred million Jews and five million Arabs. I was stunned at the simple brilliance of it. Can anyone picture the Jews strapping belts of razor blades and dynamite to themselves? Of course not. Or marshaling every fiber and force at their disposal for generations to drive a tiny Arab State into the sea? Nonsense. Or dancing for joy at the murder of innocents? Impossible. Or spreading and believing horrible lies about the Arabs baking their bread with the blood of children? Disgusting. No, as you know, left to themselves in a world of peace, the worst Jews would ever do to people is debate them to death.

Mr. Bush, God bless him, is walking a tightrope. I understand that with vital operations coming up against Iraq and others, it's in our interest, as Americans, to try to stabilize our Arab allies as muchas possible, and, after all, that can't be much harder than stabilizing a roomful of supermodels who've just had their drugs taken away.

However, in any big-picture strategy, there's always a danger of losing moral weight.

We've already lost some. After September 11 our president told us and the world he was going to root out all terrorists and the countries that supported them. Beautiful. Then the Israelis, after months and months of having the equivalent of an Oklahoma City every week (and then every day) start to do the same thing we did, and we tell them to show restraint.

If America were being attacked with an Oklahoma City every day, we would all very shortly be screaming for the administration to just be done with it and kill everything south of the Mediterranean and east of the Jordan. (Hey, wait a minute, that's actually not such a bad idea. . . .ooh, that is, what a horrible thought, yeah, horrible. . . .)

here we go again...

you're just not a good judge unless you take God outta everything..

By DAVID KRAVETS
Associated Press Writer
SAN FRANCISCO
Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools was ruled unconstitutional Wednesday by a federal judge who granted legal standing to two families represented by an atheist who lost his previous battle before the U.S. Supreme Court.
U.S. District Judge Lawrence Karlton ruled that the pledge's reference to one nation "under God" violates school children's right to be "free from a coercive requirement to affirm God."
Karlton said he was bound by precedent of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which in 2002 ruled in favor of Sacramento atheist Michael Newdow that the pledge is unconstitutional when recited in public schools.

the sex offender next door..

is it me, or can you identify a sex offender from a mile away.. they all seem to have something just a little bit off when you look at them.. but just to make sure, we register them, we have on-line databases which tell you where they live and we have all kinds of laws on the books to send these guys away for a long time in various states..

well, in my spare time in front of my computer, spent burning my retinas out, i came across a database of sex offenders... so, on a whim, i put in my zip code and what do you know.. i've got a guy who likes little boys right around the corner.. when i say little, i mean little... convicted for molesting a 6 year old..

now, being a single guy, with no kids and somewhat carefree on that front, this kinda crud still pisses me off.. my neighborhood is full of little kids playing hide and seek, chasing dogs, riding bikes.. and to think we've got some weirdo pervert right around the corner is downright sickening. this guy isn't very old either.. born in 1984, i believe.. so he's a 21 year old going after 6 year olds.. i don't know about you, but when you have 21 year olds preying on 6 year olds, we prolly need to lock them up for the next forever..

more fingers pointing toward syria..

from middle east news line:

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- A northern Syrian city has been deemed the launching pad for foreign fighters recruited for the Sunni insurgency in Iraq.
The Syrian city of Aleppo has become the the key departure point for Al Qaida-aligned fighters destined for Iraq. Islamic sources and U.S. officials said foreign fighters have been advised to arrive in Aleppo to ensure their entry into Iraq.
The Syrian Al Qaida-aligned website Minbar Suria al-Islami [www.nnuu.org] has called for experienced fighters to join the Sunni insurgency in Iraq. The website urged the fighters to maintain a low profile in Syria and arrive in Aleppo.
In a posting entitled "Advice to Brothers Seeking Jihad in Iraq," the website discouraged inexperienced youngsters from seeking to join the insurgency in Iraq. The posting said the Al Qaida-aligned insurgency does not have a shortage of fighters, rather requires specialists.

slowly but surely there is a case being made for action against syria. the united states will base the action on syria's inability and unwillingness to stop funding and facilitating the insurgency in iraq.. an interesting sidebar to this will be syria's response to US action against them. i think the assad government will take a similar approach to saddam in gulf war I. i think if the US attacks syria, you will see swift retaliation for that against israel. and that retaliation could possibly be chemical/biological in nature. there is still a significiant part of the intelligence community that feels iraqi wmd's made the trip to syria prior to the invasion..

regardless, if the flow of insurgents from syria does not slow, the war on terror could be headed west again.. from afghanistan to iraq to syria..

chemical weapons & iraq

The military bureau of Jaish al-Taefa al-Mansura (Army of the Victorious Community) has decided to strike strategic and sensitive targets belonging to the (US) forces of occupation and apostates (Iraqi government forces) in Baghdad, with non-conventional and chemical weapons" unless the Tal Afar operation is called off.

obviously, chemical weapons would up the ante in this insurgency. it's interesting to also note the seriousness of the verbiage from the united states toward syria and their involvement in the insurgency..

“Our patience is running out,” he said at news conference over help Damascus is giving radical groups in Iraq.
Asked how Washington would respond, the ambassador said “all options are on the table,” including military.
The United States believes Iraqi Sunnis are holding back on the new Iraqi constitution because of threats from Sunni extremists who have infiltrated from Syria, where they have training camps, said Khalilzad.

palestinian's (disco) inferno..

upon the withdrawl from gaza, the palestinian folks there just couldn't wait to get out their lighters and start burning the synagogues.. they get the land they wanted, they get the autonomy they've been asking for and the very first thing they can think to do is start burning things down..

Prime Minister Ahmed Qurie urged Palestinians to stop looting and start rebuilding in abandoned Jewish settlements on Tuesday following Israel's military withdrawal from Gaza. A day after the pullout..

well, i guess the best thing anyone could think to do when they get the land they've always wanted is burn it up.. genius. the fact the world community still panders to this group of 'false' refugees is sickening.. further evidence of the bias against israel.. lets reward the suicide bombers with land.. then lets all sit back and watch these folks burn up their new land. they most recently have decided to tear down and loot prized greenhouses which would/could feed the folks of that region..

i feel comfortable in saying that we will see gaza fall in to chaos.. the pa will have no control of that area - egypt will have to get involved due to blowback over THEIR border.. and the number of attacks on israel will increase. this will set the stage for the overall failure of a palestinian state.. yet more and more pressure will mount on israel to surrender the west bank.. and they will cave in, esp if that pressure comes from the united states..

big easy curse on the superdome..

there is a blog entry from nola.com by jon donley today that is suggesting that the superdome may have been cursed.. could this be the reason the saints haven't won ? read on:

By Jon Donley
NOLA.com
There is intense irony in the Superdome becoming the symbol of the horrors of Hurricane Katrina. In New Orleans lore, it's a haunted building - a cursed structure in this city that lives shoulder to shoulder with its Cities of the Dead.

Visitors are familiar with our huge expanses of above-ground tombs in dozens of cemeteries across the city. Coming in from the airport on Interstate 10, the "gateway" to downtown is flanked by sprawling Greenwood Cemetery on the left, and the elite Metairie Cemetery on the right. Downtown, the old St. Louis No. 1 Cemetery is a prime tourist spot, and has appeared in many movies. In the Garden District, diners at Commanders Palace's second floor can look out over Lafayette No. 1, filled with victims of Yellow Fever plagues.

But you can't visit the old Girod Cemetery. Abandoned for years, its iron caskets and bones were tossed up by excavation gear in the early 1970s as the crews moved in to build . . . the Superdome. Beneath the now-shredded roof and the fetid stinking mess of excrement and blood where tens of thousands huddled in storm and flood . .. and some died . . . likely lie even more unexcavated bones.

And local lore is that the Superdome was cursed . . . a punishment for desecrating this City of the Dead. Exorcists and voodoo priestesses have been here to dispel the curse. That lore will no doubt expand into an even more gruesome story for buggy drivers in the Quarter to enchant their passengers.

further proof of racism in america..

i ran across this today.. this is possibly one of the best slideshows demonstrating the colorblind nature of this country in a disaster.. the words surrounding the pictures paint a different picture however. race in this country is an issue that rears it's ugly head, however, the pendulum has swung and what was a legitimate point of view that required the courage of a nation to overcome, has become a commonplace political card played over and over and over again. the unfortunte thing about this is that when there is a legitimate issue of race, the country will dismiss it as another typical reaction from the mouths on the black left. how people can dismiss condi rice and colin powell as 'uncle tom' and there is not a peep from the black community - other than agreement.. it shows the true nature of this line of thinking.. racism is only racism if it progresses the views of the black community leaders (jackson, sharpton, etc) if it is against a person in the bush administration.. it's not really racism

'no' to girly men..

arnold's statement:

"In Governor Schwarzenegger's personal life and work in public service, he has considered no undertaking to be more noble than the cause of civil rights. He believes that gay couples are entitled to full protection under the law and should not be discriminated against based upon their relationship. He is proud that California provides the most rigorous protections in the nation for domestic partners.

"Five years ago the matter of same-sex marriage was placed before the people of California. The people voted and the issue is now before the courts. The Governor believes the matter should be determined not by legislative action — which would be unconstitutional — but by court decision or another vote of the people of our state. We cannot have a system where the people vote and the Legislature derails that vote. Out of respect for the will of the people, the Governor will veto AB 849."

this is a victory for the people of california who overwhelmingly voted against this.. glad to see the gov had the huevos to do what was right!

ohhh ghey, can you see...

well, heck.. here we stand.. in the middle of the worst national disaster that has ever hit the country and the senate of the state of california made a point to stay up late the day after it hit to pass some legislation.. what did they stay up late to pass you might ask ?? well, the ghey marriage bill, that's what !! not any discussion on the ways to assist with hurricane relief.. no discussions on solving the major financial crisis in california, but they sure could all get on board ghey marriage. the assembly of the state approved it this week.. this has now been shipped to the governor's office for his signature..

this has been called the 'last frontier of bigotry..' by california congressmen.. i'm unsure what rights gay folks don't have that the rest of us have right now.. and i'm not sure that re-defining an institution that has been around since the beginning of time is going to resolve the issues that face marriage in this country today..

so, awaiting the gov's signature is this bill that, if passed, may see a new rush to california.. maybe the ghey rush of '05 or '06.. maybe they'll be called 'oh-sixers'.. who knows. one thing i do know is that california, for all of it's physical beauty is the moral pit of this country.. add to that high taxes, cities stuffed full of illegals, public schools teaching islam and the fact it is the home of boxer, pelosi and waxman.. no thanks.. i think i've seen all the good there was to see in california..

and it's interesting, in this age of disasters.. we've now had 2 of the 3 that were most feared in the usa.. a terrorist attack on new york & a cat4 + hurricane hitting new orleans.. the only one left is the 'big one' in california..

ipod news..

from thinksecret.com

EXCLUSIVE: iPod mini to move entirely to flash and color, shuffle and phone details emerge
By Ryan Katz, Senior Editor
September 2, 2005 - Apple will upgrade both its iPod mini and iPod shuffle lines of music players, but most likely not at its media event next week, Think Secret has learned. The media event will instead be devoted almost exclusively to the new iTunes-enabled Motorola phone and the company's partnership with Cingular. The new phone will reportedly be available in two capacities, 256MB and 512MB, capable of storing about 70 and 140 songs, respectively. Users will not only be able to plug the phone into their computer to tap their iTunes Music Library for tunes, but will also have the ability of buying songs on the fly over Cingular's network, probably for about $2 a song, sources report. The ability to download songs from the phone represents a departure from Apple's original design. Months ago it emerged that cell phone networks Apple was in talks with, eager to share revenue that a music download service could generate, were uninterested in carrying the phone unless such a feature was included.Cingular will be the only carrier of the phone in the U.S. at launch, while London's Times reported Thursday that O2 will be the exclusive carrier in Britain.

Color-screen iPod mini flash
While expected to be separate from next week's phone announcements, updates to Apple's popular iPod mini are also on the horizon. The music player will ditch its hard drive and move entirely to solid state, flash media, a move that sources familiar with the new design say will shave 20 to 25 percent off the size of the unit. The new iPod mini, which will probably be introduced at Apple Expo Paris on September 20, will be available in three capacities: 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. The iPod mini will sport dual NAND flash memory chips to achieve those higher capacities, and Apple has already locked in for the rest of the year a majority of Samsung's new 4GB flash modules. To further the size savings, the new iPod mini will sport a color screen that's slightly smaller than the current version. Sources say the screen will measure 1.467 inches, down from 1.67 inches, but will feature a higher resolution: 176 x 132, up from 138 x 110, as Think Secret reported in February. It's likely, while uncertain, that the iPod mini's scroll wheel will also see a small reduction in size.Pricing is not entirely clear, but the new 4GB and 6GB models may remain priced at $199 and $249, respectively, while the 8GB iPod mini could cost as much as $299. At that price the 8GB iPod mini would cost as much as a 20GB iPod, but Apple reportedly is not worried that equivalent pricing will affect sales of the iPod mini as sales of the full-size iPods have lagged far behind iPod minis in recent quarters.News of a forthcoming flash-based iPod to replace the mini line was first reported by the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

iPod shuffle to see 2GB bump
At the same time as it revamps the iPod mini, Apple will also introduce a 2GB iPod shuffle and drop pricing on current iPod shuffles. The 512MB iPod shuffle is expected to fall to as low as $69 while the 1GB model will reportedly drop to $99. The 2GB model is expected to land somewhere between $129 and $149.

Video iPod?
Sources remain conflicted over details of a video iPod. While the grapevine has been abuzz about a video-enabled iPod, fueled by comments from record label executives, it appears that a video iPod may not in fact debut in September after all, although full-size iPods might still see a bump in capacity.Reliable sources at both ends of the spectrum have both confirmed and denied that a video iPod will arrive soon, leaving Think Secret to conclude that this one is "too close to call."

atheists contribute to relief effort..

in response to the major disaster along the gulf coast, i've been looking for the 'atheist army'.. the 'red non-cross'.. oddly enough, i haven't even found the 'agnostic army' taking supplies to the disaster victims.. and now this:

The American Atheists organization says President Bush should stop urging prayer for Hurricane Katrina victims because it violates the Constitution.

Ellen Johnson, president of the group said Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco and Bush "should not be violating the Constitution by telling people to pray for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. It's unconstitutional for government officials to be promoting religion; and besides, judging from the speed of some relief efforts, officials should be busy working instead of preaching."

this woman is pure genius.. let's concern ourselves with these prayer requests in this time of disaster.. how dare this nation pray for these people.. how dare they !! and who is it that is helping ?? it is the SALVATION ARMY.. the RED CROSS.. and it is the maligned Christian folks in the BIBLE BELT who are volunteering time away from their jobs, putting people up in their homes, bringing literally tons of supplies. in a time like this, you really find out who you can count on in this country.. it's become apparent that the 'reverend' al sharpton and the 'reverend' jesse jackson are mouthpieces for entitlement and little else.. it's the everyday, hard working, middle class church goers who are opening their homes and their wallets..

i couldn't be more proud of the state of Texas - we've taken in close to 300,000 folks who have lost everything -- without even a peep of undue stress.. the reaction from churches and other religious organizations has been overwhelming.. yet, all the atheist folks can do is lodge a worthless complaint about prayer.. now THAT is contributing to society.
