the palestinian myth

a great piece that is worth re-reading..

"There are no Palestinians"
By Larry Miller
The Weekly Standard April 21, 2003

A brief overview of the situation is always valuable, so as a service to all Americans who still don't get it, I now offer you the story of the Middle East in just a few paragraphs, which is all you really need.

Don't thank me. I'm a giver. Here we go:

The Palestinians want their own country. There's just one thing about that: There are no Palestinians. It's a made up word. Israel was called Palestine for two thousand years. Like "Wiccan," "Palestinian" sounds ancient but is really a modern invention. Before the Israelis won the land in war, Gaza was owned by Egypt, and there were no "Palestinians" then, and the West Bank was owned by Jordan, and there were no "Palestinians" then. As soon as the Jews took over and started growing oranges as big as basketballs, what do you know, say hello to the "Palestinians," weeping for their deep bond with their lost "land" and "nation."

So for the sake of honesty, let's not use the word "Palestinian" any more to describe these delightful folks, who dance for joy at our deaths until someone points out they're being taped. Instead, let's call them what they are: "Other Arabs Who Can't Accomplish Anything In Life And Would Rather Wrap Themselves In The Seductive Melodrama Of Eternal Struggle And Death."

I know that's a bit unwieldy to expect to see on CNN. How about this, then: "Adjacent Jew-Haters." Okay, so the Adjacent Jew-Haters want their own country. Oops, just one more thing. No, they don't. They could've had their own country any time in the last thirty years, especially two years ago at Camp David. But if you have your own country, you have to have traffic lights and garbage trucks and Chambers of Commerce, and, worse, you actually have to figure out some way to make a living. That's no fun. No, they want what all the other Jew-Haters in the region want: Israel.

They also want a big pile of dead Jews, of course -- that's where the real fun is -- but mostly they want Israel. Why? For one thing, trying to destroy Israel - or "The Zionist Entity" as their textbooks call it -- for the last fifty years has allowed the rulers of Arab countries to divert the attention of their own people away from the fact that they're the blue-ribbon most illiterate, poorest, and tribally backward on God's Earth, and if you've ever been around God's Earth, you know that's really saying something.

It makes me roll my eyes every time one of our pundits waxes poetic about the great history and culture of the Muslim Mideast. Unless I'm missing something, the Arabs haven't given anything to the world since Algebra, and, by the way, thanks a hell of a lot for that one.

Chew this around and spit it out: Five hundred million Arabs; five million Jews.

Think of all the Arab countries as a football field, and Israel as a pack of matches sitting in the middle of it. And now these same folks swear that if Israel gives them half of that pack of matches, everyone will be pals.

Really? Wow, what neat news. Hey, but what about the string of wars to obliterate the tiny country and the constant din of rabid blood oaths to drive every Jew into the sea? Oh, that? We were just kidding.

My friend Kevin Rooney made a gorgeous point the other day: Just reverse the numbers. Imagine five hundred million Jews and five million Arabs. I was stunned at the simple brilliance of it. Can anyone picture the Jews strapping belts of razor blades and dynamite to themselves? Of course not. Or marshaling every fiber and force at their disposal for generations to drive a tiny Arab State into the sea? Nonsense. Or dancing for joy at the murder of innocents? Impossible. Or spreading and believing horrible lies about the Arabs baking their bread with the blood of children? Disgusting. No, as you know, left to themselves in a world of peace, the worst Jews would ever do to people is debate them to death.

Mr. Bush, God bless him, is walking a tightrope. I understand that with vital operations coming up against Iraq and others, it's in our interest, as Americans, to try to stabilize our Arab allies as muchas possible, and, after all, that can't be much harder than stabilizing a roomful of supermodels who've just had their drugs taken away.

However, in any big-picture strategy, there's always a danger of losing moral weight.

We've already lost some. After September 11 our president told us and the world he was going to root out all terrorists and the countries that supported them. Beautiful. Then the Israelis, after months and months of having the equivalent of an Oklahoma City every week (and then every day) start to do the same thing we did, and we tell them to show restraint.

If America were being attacked with an Oklahoma City every day, we would all very shortly be screaming for the administration to just be done with it and kill everything south of the Mediterranean and east of the Jordan. (Hey, wait a minute, that's actually not such a bad idea. . . .ooh, that is, what a horrible thought, yeah, horrible. . . .)

here we go again...

you're just not a good judge unless you take God outta everything..

By DAVID KRAVETS

SAN FRANCISCO
Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools was ruled unconstitutional Wednesday by a federal judge who granted legal standing to two families represented by an atheist who lost his previous battle before the U.S. Supreme Court.
U.S. District Judge Lawrence Karlton ruled that the pledge's reference to one nation "under God" violates school children's right to be "free from a coercive requirement to affirm God."
Karlton said he was bound by precedent of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which in 2002 ruled in favor of Sacramento atheist Michael Newdow that the pledge is unconstitutional when recited in public schools.

the sex offender next door..

is it me, or can you identify a sex offender from a mile away.. they all seem to have something just a little bit off when you look at them.. but just to make sure, we register them, we have on-line databases which tell you where they live and we have all kinds of laws on the books to send these guys away for a long time in various states..

well, in my spare time in front of my computer, spent burning my retinas out, i came across a database of sex offenders... so, on a whim, i put in my zip code and what do you know.. i've got a guy who likes little boys right around the corner.. when i say little, i mean little... convicted for molesting a 6 year old..

now, being a single guy, with no kids and somewhat carefree on that front, this kinda crud still pisses me off.. my neighborhood is full of little kids playing hide and seek, chasing dogs, riding bikes.. and to think we've got some weirdo pervert right around the corner is downright sickening. this guy isn't very old either.. born in 1984, i believe.. so he's a 21 year old going after 6 year olds.. i don't know about you, but when you have 21 year olds preying on 6 year olds, we prolly need to lock them up for the next forever..

more fingers pointing toward syria..

from middle east news line:

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- A northern Syrian city has been deemed the launching pad for foreign fighters recruited for the Sunni insurgency in Iraq.
The Syrian city of Aleppo has become the the key departure point for Al Qaida-aligned fighters destined for Iraq. Islamic sources and U.S. officials said foreign fighters have been advised to arrive in Aleppo to ensure their entry into Iraq.
The Syrian Al Qaida-aligned website Minbar Suria al-Islami [www.nnuu.org] has called for experienced fighters to join the Sunni insurgency in Iraq. The website urged the fighters to maintain a low profile in Syria and arrive in Aleppo.
In a posting entitled "Advice to Brothers Seeking Jihad in Iraq," the website discouraged inexperienced youngsters from seeking to join the insurgency in Iraq. The posting said the Al Qaida-aligned insurgency does not have a shortage of fighters, rather requires specialists.

slowly but surely there is a case being made for action against syria. the united states will base the action on syria's inability and unwillingness to stop funding and facilitating the insurgency in iraq.. an interesting sidebar to this will be syria's response to US action against them. i think the assad government will take a similar approach to saddam in gulf war I. i think if the US attacks syria, you will see swift retaliation for that against israel. and that retaliation could possibly be chemical/biological in nature. there is still a significiant part of the intelligence community that feels iraqi wmd's made the trip to syria prior to the invasion..

regardless, if the flow of insurgents from syria does not slow, the war on terror could be headed west again.. from afghanistan to iraq to syria..

chemical weapons & iraq

The military bureau of Jaish al-Taefa al-Mansura (Army of the Victorious Community) has decided to strike strategic and sensitive targets belonging to the (US) forces of occupation and apostates (Iraqi government forces) in Baghdad, with non-conventional and chemical weapons" unless the Tal Afar operation is called off.

obviously, chemical weapons would up the ante in this insurgency. it's interesting to also note the seriousness of the verbiage from the united states toward syria and their involvement in the insurgency..

“Our patience is running out,” he said at news conference over help Damascus is giving radical groups in Iraq.
Asked how Washington would respond, the ambassador said “all options are on the table,” including military.
The United States believes Iraqi Sunnis are holding back on the new Iraqi constitution because of threats from Sunni extremists who have infiltrated from Syria, where they have training camps, said Khalilzad.

palestinian's (disco) inferno..

upon the withdrawl from gaza, the palestinian folks there just couldn't wait to get out their lighters and start burning the synagogues.. they get the land they wanted, they get the autonomy they've been asking for and the very first thing they can think to do is start burning things down..

Prime Minister Ahmed Qurie urged Palestinians to stop looting and start rebuilding in abandoned Jewish settlements on Tuesday following Israel's military withdrawal from Gaza. A day after the pullout..

well, i guess the best thing anyone could think to do when they get the land they've always wanted is burn it up.. genius. the fact the world community still panders to this group of 'false' refugees is sickening.. further evidence of the bias against israel.. lets reward the suicide bombers with land.. then lets all sit back and watch these folks burn up their new land. they most recently have decided to tear down and loot prized greenhouses which would/could feed the folks of that region..

i feel comfortable in saying that we will see gaza fall in to chaos.. the pa will have no control of that area - egypt will have to get involved due to blowback over THEIR border.. and the number of attacks on israel will increase. this will set the stage for the overall failure of a palestinian state.. yet more and more pressure will mount on israel to surrender the west bank.. and they will cave in, esp if that pressure comes from the united states..

big easy curse on the superdome..

there is a blog entry from nola.com by jon donley today that is suggesting that the superdome may have been cursed.. could this be the reason the saints haven't won ? read on:

By Jon Donley
NOLA.com
There is intense irony in the Superdome becoming the symbol of the horrors of Hurricane Katrina. In New Orleans lore, it's a haunted building - a cursed structure in this city that lives shoulder to shoulder with its Cities of the Dead.

Visitors are familiar with our huge expanses of above-ground tombs in dozens of cemeteries across the city. Coming in from the airport on Interstate 10, the "gateway" to downtown is flanked by sprawling Greenwood Cemetery on the left, and the elite Metairie Cemetery on the right. Downtown, the old St. Louis No. 1 Cemetery is a prime tourist spot, and has appeared in many movies. In the Garden District, diners at Commanders Palace's second floor can look out over Lafayette No. 1, filled with victims of Yellow Fever plagues.

But you can't visit the old Girod Cemetery. Abandoned for years, its iron caskets and bones were tossed up by excavation gear in the early 1970s as the crews moved in to build . . . the Superdome. Beneath the now-shredded roof and the fetid stinking mess of excrement and blood where tens of thousands huddled in storm and flood . .. and some died . . . likely lie even more unexcavated bones.

And local lore is that the Superdome was cursed . . . a punishment for desecrating this City of the Dead. Exorcists and voodoo priestesses have been here to dispel the curse. That lore will no doubt expand into an even more gruesome story for buggy drivers in the Quarter to enchant their passengers.

further proof of racism in america..

i ran across this today.. this is possibly one of the best slideshows demonstrating the colorblind nature of this country in a disaster.. the words surrounding the pictures paint a different picture however. race in this country is an issue that rears it's ugly head, however, the pendulum has swung and what was a legitimate point of view that required the courage of a nation to overcome, has become a commonplace political card played over and over and over again. the unfortunte thing about this is that when there is a legitimate issue of race, the country will dismiss it as another typical reaction from the mouths on the black left. how people can dismiss condi rice and colin powell as 'uncle tom' and there is not a peep from the black community - other than agreement.. it shows the true nature of this line of thinking.. racism is only racism if it progresses the views of the black community leaders (jackson, sharpton, etc) if it is against a person in the bush administration.. it's not really racism

'no' to girly men..

arnold's statement:

"In Governor Schwarzenegger's personal life and work in public service, he has considered no undertaking to be more noble than the cause of civil rights. He believes that gay couples are entitled to full protection under the law and should not be discriminated against based upon their relationship. He is proud that California provides the most rigorous protections in the nation for domestic partners.

"Five years ago the matter of same-sex marriage was placed before the people of California. The people voted and the issue is now before the courts. The Governor believes the matter should be determined not by legislative action — which would be unconstitutional — but by court decision or another vote of the people of our state. We cannot have a system where the people vote and the Legislature derails that vote. Out of respect for the will of the people, the Governor will veto AB 849."

this is a victory for the people of california who overwhelmingly voted against this.. glad to see the gov had the huevos to do what was right!

ohhh ghey, can you see...

well, heck.. here we stand.. in the middle of the worst national disaster that has ever hit the country and the senate of the state of california made a point to stay up late the day after it hit to pass some legislation.. what did they stay up late to pass you might ask ?? well, the ghey marriage bill, that's what !! not any discussion on the ways to assist with hurricane relief.. no discussions on solving the major financial crisis in california, but they sure could all get on board ghey marriage. the assembly of the state approved it this week.. this has now been shipped to the governor's office for his signature..

this has been called the 'last frontier of bigotry..' by california congressmen.. i'm unsure what rights gay folks don't have that the rest of us have right now.. and i'm not sure that re-defining an institution that has been around since the beginning of time is going to resolve the issues that face marriage in this country today..

so, awaiting the gov's signature is this bill that, if passed, may see a new rush to california.. maybe the ghey rush of '05 or '06.. maybe they'll be called 'oh-sixers'.. who knows. one thing i do know is that california, for all of it's physical beauty is the moral pit of this country.. add to that high taxes, cities stuffed full of illegals, public schools teaching islam and the fact it is the home of boxer, pelosi and waxman.. no thanks.. i think i've seen all the good there was to see in california..

and it's interesting, in this age of disasters.. we've now had 2 of the 3 that were most feared in the usa.. a terrorist attack on new york & a cat4 + hurricane hitting new orleans.. the only one left is the 'big one' in california..

ipod news..

from thinksecret.com

EXCLUSIVE: iPod mini to move entirely to flash and color, shuffle and phone details emerge
By Ryan Katz, Senior Editor
September 2, 2005 - Apple will upgrade both its iPod mini and iPod shuffle lines of music players, but most likely not at its media event next week, Think Secret has learned. The media event will instead be devoted almost exclusively to the new iTunes-enabled Motorola phone and the company's partnership with Cingular. The new phone will reportedly be available in two capacities, 256MB and 512MB, capable of storing about 70 and 140 songs, respectively. Users will not only be able to plug the phone into their computer to tap their iTunes Music Library for tunes, but will also have the ability of buying songs on the fly over Cingular's network, probably for about $2 a song, sources report. The ability to download songs from the phone represents a departure from Apple's original design. Months ago it emerged that cell phone networks Apple was in talks with, eager to share revenue that a music download service could generate, were uninterested in carrying the phone unless such a feature was included.Cingular will be the only carrier of the phone in the U.S. at launch, while London's Times reported Thursday that O2 will be the exclusive carrier in Britain.

Color-screen iPod mini flash
While expected to be separate from next week's phone announcements, updates to Apple's popular iPod mini are also on the horizon. The music player will ditch its hard drive and move entirely to solid state, flash media, a move that sources familiar with the new design say will shave 20 to 25 percent off the size of the unit. The new iPod mini, which will probably be introduced at Apple Expo Paris on September 20, will be available in three capacities: 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. The iPod mini will sport dual NAND flash memory chips to achieve those higher capacities, and Apple has already locked in for the rest of the year a majority of Samsung's new 4GB flash modules. To further the size savings, the new iPod mini will sport a color screen that's slightly smaller than the current version. Sources say the screen will measure 1.467 inches, down from 1.67 inches, but will feature a higher resolution: 176 x 132, up from 138 x 110, as Think Secret reported in February. It's likely, while uncertain, that the iPod mini's scroll wheel will also see a small reduction in size.Pricing is not entirely clear, but the new 4GB and 6GB models may remain priced at $199 and $249, respectively, while the 8GB iPod mini could cost as much as $299. At that price the 8GB iPod mini would cost as much as a 20GB iPod, but Apple reportedly is not worried that equivalent pricing will affect sales of the iPod mini as sales of the full-size iPods have lagged far behind iPod minis in recent quarters.News of a forthcoming flash-based iPod to replace the mini line was first reported by the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

iPod shuffle to see 2GB bump
At the same time as it revamps the iPod mini, Apple will also introduce a 2GB iPod shuffle and drop pricing on current iPod shuffles. The 512MB iPod shuffle is expected to fall to as low as $69 while the 1GB model will reportedly drop to $99. The 2GB model is expected to land somewhere between $129 and $149.

Video iPod?
Sources remain conflicted over details of a video iPod. While the grapevine has been abuzz about a video-enabled iPod, fueled by comments from record label executives, it appears that a video iPod may not in fact debut in September after all, although full-size iPods might still see a bump in capacity.Reliable sources at both ends of the spectrum have both confirmed and denied that a video iPod will arrive soon, leaving Think Secret to conclude that this one is "too close to call."

atheists contribute to relief effort..

in response to the major disaster along the gulf coast, i've been looking for the 'atheist army'.. the 'red non-cross'.. oddly enough, i haven't even found the 'agnostic army' taking supplies to the disaster victims.. and now this:

The American Atheists organization says President Bush should stop urging prayer for Hurricane Katrina victims because it violates the Constitution.

Ellen Johnson, president of the group said Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco and Bush "should not be violating the Constitution by telling people to pray for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. It's unconstitutional for government officials to be promoting religion; and besides, judging from the speed of some relief efforts, officials should be busy working instead of preaching."

this woman is pure genius.. let's concern ourselves with these prayer requests in this time of disaster.. how dare this nation pray for these people.. how dare they !! and who is it that is helping ?? it is the SALVATION ARMY.. the RED CROSS.. and it is the maligned Christian folks in the BIBLE BELT who are volunteering time away from their jobs, putting people up in their homes, bringing literally tons of supplies. in a time like this, you really find out who you can count on in this country.. it's become apparent that the 'reverend' al sharpton and the 'reverend' jesse jackson are mouthpieces for entitlement and little else.. it's the everyday, hard working, middle class church goers who are opening their homes and their wallets..

i couldn't be more proud of the state of Texas - we've taken in close to 300,000 folks who have lost everything -- without even a peep of undue stress.. the reaction from churches and other religious organizations has been overwhelming.. yet, all the atheist folks can do is lodge a worthless complaint about prayer.. now THAT is contributing to society.

this says it all..

Numerous soldiers also told Army Times that they have been shot at by armed civilians in New Orleans. Spokesmen for the Joint Task Force Headquarters at the Superdome were unaware of any servicemen being wounded in the streets, although one soldier is recovering from a gunshot wound sustained during a struggle with a civilian in the dome Wednesday night.

“I never thought that as a National Guardsman I would be shot at by other Americans,” said Spc. Philip Baccus of the 527th Engineer Battalion. “And I never thought I’d have to carry a rifle when on a hurricane relief mission. This is a disgrace.”
Spc. Cliff Ferguson of the 527th Engineer Battalion pointed out that he knows there are plenty of decent people in New Orleans, but he said it is hard to stay motivated considering the circumstances.

“This is making a lot of us think about not reenlisting.” Ferguson said. “You have to think about whether it is worth risking your neck for someone who will turn around and shoot at you. We didn’t come here to fight a war. We came here to help.”

nawlins mayor fears cia..

it's official, paranoia has reached new highs.. the mayor of new orleans now fears that the cia is going to kill him for criticizing the president.. are you kidding me ?? this guy has nothing better to do than speculate about his government sponsored end ?? he failed to make sure his city was evacuated properly... he failed to have a plan in place to take the poor and infirm out of the city he knew to be in the line of danger ?? at what point do people in our country take account for their actions.. thousands of school busses sat dormant as he told everyone to leave his city.. leaving the poor and the helpless to deal with a category 4 hurricane on their own..

the fact that people in this country like to blame their ill fate on others and take no responsibility makes me sick.. if you are facing certain death/destruction.. walk your butt out of the city.. back before the bus and the airplane, there was the put one foot in front of the other method.

i'm growing weary of the thought that people are unable to take control of their own destiny in this country.. everyone has the same opportunity in front of them.. some have more help than others.. but education is free.. desire is free.. hard work costs nothing.. hoping your government does everything for you, may cost you your life. have a plan.. we're all a moment away from the next unforseen disaster.. take a moment and think about how you'll deal with it.. with no government help.

Friday, September 02, 2005

how did we let this happen ???

how can the only superpower in the world be suffering such a blow in this disaster ?? how come the government didn't have the navy positioned off the coast ?? why were there not tens of thousands of national guard on spot ?? all of these questions are being asked about the largest natural disaster in united states history.. just how do you prepare for something you've never seen before ??

i'm reminded of all of the handwringing we had after 9/11.. how could we have let this happen ?? how were we not prepared ?? i look ahead to the next natural disaster we have on the radar - a major quake in california decimating the state.. just how would we prepare for that disaster ??

i think that we've got to take a closer look at people in general.. the single largest thing that could have been done to prevent this disaster would have been to evacuate the area. if everyone would have left, as instructed, there would be no 'human' tragedy. there would be horrific economic damage and ruin, but the human drama would not be unfolding as it is.. so is it the government's responsibility to evacuate people from a potential disaster area ?? or is it just the government's responsibility to provide the information to the public ? there were countless reports of police going door to door having people sign releases because they were going to stay behind.. at what point are people responsible for their own actions in this country ?

federal, state and local authorities set up the superdome for people to utilize to ride out the storm.. the superdome then turned in to a zoo, with people being murdered, raped, assaulted - all by the people the authorities are trying to save.. then the looting came, and citizens are brazenly stealing firearms, jewelry and electronics.. these are the citizens who are under duress.. the ones we're trying to save.. and now, these citizens are shooting at rescue workers.. the people the rescue workers are there to save are shooting at them..

all of this, of course, is the governments fault.. the mayor of new orleans went forward last night with a profanity laced tirade against the state and federal authorities for not helping enough.. is this the leadership we need in a crisis ??

what isn't reported is that supplies and people were prepositioned in many locations, but the extent of the destruction was unprecidented, blocking roads, washing out bridges..

there are many common sense things that needed to be done better- communication infrastructure is a failure. no cell towers, no land lines.. satellite phones and police/military radio are really the only initial means for communication.. there are lots of lessons to learn.. but according to the people on the ground, it's all at the feet of the government. this political charging of a natural disaster is sickening.. jesse jackson, jr has even come out ranting on the president's failure.. but no mention of the failure of the democratic mayor of governor..

the lesson to learn here is this: when you are told to evacuate, you would do well to follow those orders. walk out if you have to, but a natrural disaster cares not if you are rich, poor, fat, thin, black, white, republican or democrat..

cindy blames bush for katrina..

we all knew it was just a matter of time.. but on cindy's last day in crawford, she made it official.. (from the huffington post)

"Well, George and I are leaving Crawford today. George is finished playing golf and telling his fables in San Diego, so he will be heading to Louisiana to see the devastation that his environmental policies and his killing policies have caused."

i'm certain that she really feels that way.. george summoned up the power of the 'universe' and spun katrina across florida and in to the gulf coast.. if you need any further proof that this crackpot media whore is out for something other than her son, now you have it.. let's recap.. first, the universe chose her for this.. next, she channeled her son's spirit from heaven, and all he had to say was that bush was an idiot.. then, she takes on moveon.org as her official handlers, calling off interviews when she gets questions she doesn't like.. . after that, she admits on national tv that she has 6 other moms on her side.. and now she is making eyes at al sharpton and blaming katrina on g-dub. the fact this woman gets any media coverage at all is borderline sickening.. the fact that the overwhelming majority of people who disagree with her point of view get no voice in the media is not so surprising really..

i can scream media bias again, but that's a tired arguement, right ?? so let me show you what you get vs. what is actually happening.. look at this. if this doesn't show you what a phony she is and what kind of nonsense the media is feeding you, nothing will..

Nikon D200

nikon appears poised to announce it's d200 camera in early september. this camera looks to be a good. as a nikon guy, it has my attention. 12.4 megapixels, new cmos of 23.7 x 15.7mm, 2.5" 230,000 dot display, 52ms shutter release lag. also has usb 2.0 so you can place your files on a flash drive.

it's official, katrina is bush's fault..

RFK Jr.: Bush, Barbour to Blame for Katrina

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is blaming Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, along with President Bush, for causing Hurricane Katrina.

"As Hurricane Katrina dismantles Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, it’s worth recalling the central role that Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour played in derailing the Kyoto Protocol and kiboshing President Bush’s iron-clad campaign promise to regulate CO2," Kennedy blogged Tuesday on HuffingtonPost.com.

The influential Democrat's enviro-conspiracy theory had the sinister Gov. Barbour engineering Bush's energy policy on behalf of "the president’s major donors from the fossil fuel industry."Kennedy charges that in March 2001, the former Republican National Committee chairman issued "an urgent memo to the White House" on CO2 emissions.

With that, the president dropped his pro-environment campaign promise like a hot potato.

Because of Bush and Barbour's CO2 folly, said Kennedy: "Now we are all learning what it’s like to reap the whirlwind of fossil fuel dependence which Barbour and his cronies have encouraged."

RFK, Jr., even suggested that Katrina's last minute detour through Mississippi was a bit of Divine payback, declaring:

"Perhaps it was Barbour’s memo that caused Katrina, at the last moment, to spare New Orleans and save its worst flailings for the Mississippi coast."
------------------------------

didn't we all know it all along ?

bushwhacked.. from the right..

g-dub is getting attacked from the right on his poor record concerning immigration. paelocon dinosaur pat buchanan has called for a republican legislator to move for impeachment of g-dub. now, more folks on the right are calling for the same thing. george has been in bed with the hispanic vote from day one. there is a republican strategy that is trying to secure the hispanic vote for the future, in essence, securing majority rule.. one thing republican strategists did not count on was a strong backlash from their base. that is exactly what is happening. the republicans have been, at least in a verbal sense, leapfrogged by the democrats.. the democratic governors of both arizona and new mexico have lent strong words (not backed by consistent actions, however) to fixing the border problem. again, the republicans are playing catch up. this country has grown tired of the endless illegal assault from the south.. there are now an estimated 20 million illegal immigrants in this country.. 20 MILLION. this is crushing the state economies.. it is sucking up federal money.. it is burning up taxpayer money to pay for services to non-citizens. it has got to stop. the republicans missed the calling on the minute men.. they have missed the calling to enforce existing immigration law and they are going to pay dearly in the next election cycle.. the bad news is that the other side of the aisle is even WORSE.. i'm concerned americans will stay home and not vote, allowing an even worse policy to slide in to place.. the ted kennedy side of the house openly long for open borders, with no immigration restraints.. further diluting the soverignty of the united states.. more poor illegals = more government assistance = more of a shift to socialist policy = more leaning on the UN for guidance and direction.. it's just sickening.

..more video observations

ok, i'm stuck.. this is like watching a series of car accidents in slow motion.. how have we made it this far since the demise of the keyboard/guitar.. ? i mean, how can you be a rockstar keyboard player if you are hidden behind all of those keys ?? the only answer is to place it on a stick and hold it like a guitar.. sliced bread, ball point pen, keyboartar, i mean gutiarboard.. what has happened to stand up keyboard man ?

and how great must it have been to be kool of kool and the gang.. ? 'this is the night you'll see the light.. ' i will keep repeating that to myself.. but really, how do you get named after a menthol cigarette anyway..

and it's a shame that the leather pants w/ white tennis shoes combo has seemingly evaporated from the fashion sense of todays hipsters.. they could really learn a thing or two from watching some classic styx videos.. speaking of having too much time on my hands.. this video might be the worst in the history of ever.. but now they're suggesting that i sail away.. where is eric cartman when you need him anyway..

things have taken a turn for the better music wise.. kool & the gang -> styx -> eric clapton-> doobie brothers

blackwater seems like such an appropriate song right now..

choreography & the 80's

ok, i can admit that at 9:30 at night i'm a bit too lazy to move the laptop, get off the couch and walk across the room to get my remote.. the price i pay for this laziness is the ongoing exposure to vh1's tuesday 2-play. (and this is a dear price indeed) mixed in with the heart, steve winwood and van halen have been a few reminders of a very strange 80's video phenomenon.. now understand, as a child of the 80's i feel as if i was pretty in tune with all that was hip back then.. parachute pants (had em), z cavaricci (had em), miami vice (watched it), zodiacs (had a bunch).. i feel pretty in touch with my time spent in the 80's.. this one thing, however, has escaped me.. and i must admit, i am now transfixed by it... what is IT? IT is the amount of unnecessary, unadultrated, unabashed, over the top dance choreography shoe-horned in to these videos from the 80's.. now i don't know about you, but i have NEVER seen people walking down the street just fall in to line and start snapping their fingers and kicking their legs around when a certain song came on(let alone a bunch of zombies).. but these videos would have you believe that is how the 80's were lived.. groups of people, falling in to formation and getting down to the worst dance moves ever created.. michael jackson, paula abdul, madonna, even the MOODY BLUES have choreographed dancers getting down to horrible songs.. maybe it's an allergic reaction to the music, i'm just not sure.. i am sure that today this choreographed nonsense is left to cheerleaders and boy bands.. oh, and the yuck monkeys in rap videos.. and i'm pretty sure we're all better off for it..

more bad news for new orleans..

Water rising at 17th St. canal
Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Ray Nagin has announced that the attempt to plug a breach in the 17th Street canal at the Hammond Highway bridge has failed and the rising water is about to overwhelm the pumps on that canal. The result is that water will begin rising rapidly again, and could reach as high as 3 feet above sea level. In New Orleans and Jefferson Parish, that means floodwaters could rise as high as 15 feet in the next few hours.Nagin urged residents to try to find higher ground as soon as possible.

tragic

all of new orleans to be evacuated..

the water keeps pouring in to new orleans.. the latest word is that the governor of louisiana is calling for the total evacuation of the city of new orleans... from the AP:

With conditions in the hurricane-ravaged city of New Orleans rapidly deteriorating, Gov. Kathleen Blanco said Tuesday that people now huddled in the Superdome and other rescue centers need to be evacuated...

Because of two levees that broke Tuesday, the city was rapidly filling with water and the prospect of having power was a long time off, the governor said. She also said the storm severed a major water main, leaving the city without drinkable water.

this combined with out of control looting has turned new orleans into a total disaster area.. hospitals are now being evacuated due to the rising water.. one positive note - the super walmart in kenner has made a point to be open to supply the impacted area.. gotta give those guys some credit

and i will curse..

just thinking out loud, but these events bring an interesting correlation to a post i made on 8/4 related to a verse in genesis.. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.. Gen 12:3

on 8/15, after extreme pressure from the united states, israel withdrew from God given land in gaza.. the united states continues pressure on israel to unilaterally withdraw from the west bank in the face of continuing terror from the PA.

i will state once again, i think it's dangerous business for the united states to be forcing israel to withraw from God given land..

new orleans, filling up..

there are reports that new orleans has declared marshal law.. that would be unprecedented. (this has been confirmed - citizens have been told that they have no civil rights as of now & the national guard is controlling the city) the latest reports out of new orleans are that more levees are breaking and areas that once appeared to be clear are now flooding.. the lakeview levee sent water all through the neighborhoods around uno.. right along robert e. lee and around the lakefront arena for you panic fans.. now a large section of the 17th street canal levee as failed and has sent water through mid-city, carrolton, gentilly, city park and more.. from the AP:

In downtown New Orleans, streets that were relatively clear in the hours after the storm were filled with 1 to 1 1/2 feet of water Tuesday morning.
Water was knee-deep around the Superdome. Canal Street was literally a canal. Water lapped at the edge of the French Quarter.
Little islands of red ants floated in the gasoline-fouled waters through downtown. The Hyatt Hotel and other high-rise around the Superdome had rows and rows of shattered windows.

apparently pontchartrain is emptying in to the city, which is going to create a serious environmental disaster.. there are no estimates when the flow of water will stop, meaning that the whole city could be submerged by day end if it keeps up.

there are reports of dead bodies floating in the flood waters.. barges are reportedly being brought in to try to generate electricity & there is growing concern around providing clean water to people, especially as the summer heat starts to come back.. this could be very, very bad..

katrina's march from the sea..

what was 'good' for new orleans looks to be utter catastrophe for mississippi. new orleans, once again dodged the direct hit they've feared for decades.. that being said, much of the city is underwater, the water is still rising and the timeline for getting power back to the town is estimated to be weeks. tomorrow morning is going to bring more pictures of the damage, and i'm certain those images are going to be shocking. it's ironic that the french quarter was spared, yet many residential neighborhoods are under 8+ feet of water. the latest reports tonite are indicating that water level is still rising in new orleans. all of that water will have to be pumped out, so new orleans' problems may just be starting. there will be significant fresh water issues, including contamination and disease if that water isn't moved out quickly.
to the east, i'm afraid things are going to be unfortunate. the last estimate i saw was 50 dead in mississippi alone. there has been no look in to plaquemines parrish and st. bernard parrish.. with the track of the storm, these two will have taken the worst of it in louisiana. most of those areas are not far above sea level and are surrounded by water.. i pray that that the folks that rode it out in those areas made it through safely. the reports from earlier indicated that people were having to ride out the storm on their roof due to the water being so high..
mississippi looks to have taken the absolute worst part of this storm. gulfport fire marshall is indicating 75% of all structures have significant roof damage if any roof left at all. biloxi had a tragic apartment death count - up to 50 people were killed when an apartment complex collapsed.. it appears as if things will be found to be worse in the morning.
the next concern after search and rescue will be to prevent looting - mississippi's governor came out with a powerful statement on that - authorizing the full force of the law against looters - comparing them to grave robbers. after that, the southern heat will kick in and make the clean up effort nothing short of miserable.
i'm afraid that we haven't seen the true impact of this storm yet. i have a feeling that tomorrow will bring some tragic news. pray for the folks in the south.

a soldier's point of view..

Borrowed from frontpagemag.com
The following letter was written in response to a public "Die-In" held at the front gate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, this past April. Its author, Marc Fencil, would have been on campus at the time, but, as a Marine, he was stationed in Iraq. OU's official student publication, The Post, ran his letter on April 8, 2005. We were as inspired by his forthright invitation to the antiwar protestors as we are grateful for his service. If only every college student -- let alone professor -- were endowed with as much patriotism and common sense. -- The Editors.

To the editor:
It's a shame that I'm here in Iraq with the Marines right now and not back at Ohio University completing my senior year and joining in blissful ignorance with the enlightened, war-seasoned protesters who participated in the recent "die-in" at College Gate. It would appear that all the action is back home, but why don't we make sure? That's right, this is an open invitation for you to cut your hair, take a shower, get in shape and come on over! If Michael Moore can shave and lose enough weight to fit into a pair of camouflage utilities, then he can come too!

Make sure you all say your goodbyes to your loved ones though, because you won't be seeing them for at least the next nine months. You need to get here quick because I don't want you to miss a thing. You missed last month's discovery of a basement full of suicide vests from the former regime (I'm sure Saddam's henchmen just wore them because they were trendy though). You weren't here for the opening of a brand new school we built either. You might also notice women exercising their new freedom of walking to the market unaccompanied by their husbands.

There is a man here, we just call him al-Zarqawi, but we think he'd be delighted to sit down and give you some advice on how you can further disrespect the victims of Sept. 11 and the 1,600 of America's bravest who have laid down their lives for a safer world. Of course he'll still call you "infidel" but since you already agree that there is no real evil in the world, I see no reason for you to be afraid. Besides, didn't you say that radical Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance?

I'm warning you though -it's not going to be all fun and games over here. You might have bad dreams for the next several nights after you zip up the body bag over a friend's disfigured face. I know you think that nothing, even a world free of terror for one's children, is worth dying for, but bear with me here. We're going to live in conditions you've never dreamt about. You should get here soon though, because the temperatures are going to be over 130 degrees very soon and we will be carrying full combat loads (we're still going to work though). When it's all over, I promise you can go back to your coffee houses and preach about social justice and peace while you continue to live outside of reality.

If you decide to decline my offer, then at least you should sleep well tonight knowing that men wearing black facemasks and carrying AK-47s yelling "Allahu Akbar" over here are proud of you and are forever indebted to you for advancing their cause of terror. While you ponder this, I'll get back to the real "die-in" over here. I don't mind.

National Weather Service Statement

The National Weather Service has issued a special statement outlining the damage that might be caused if Hurricane Katrina makes landfall as a strong Category 4 or Category 5 storm. “Most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks, perhaps longer,” says the statement. “At least one-half of well-constructed homes will have roof and wall failure. All gabled roofs will fail, leaving those homes severely damaged or destroyed. The statement says the majority of industrial buildings will become “non-functional,” with partial or complete wall and roof failure. “All wood-framed low-rising apartments will sustain major damage, including some wall and roof failure,” the statement said. “Concrete block low-rise apartments will sustain major damage, including some wall and roof failure.” The statement says high-rise office and apartment buildings will sway dangerously, “a few to the point of total collapse.” And all their windows will blow out. Airborne debris will be widespread, and may include heavy items — household appliances and light cars and trucks —and even sport utility vehicles and trucks will be moved. “The blown debris will create additional destruction,” the statement said. “Persons, pets and livestock exposed to the winds will face certain death if struck.” Power outages will last for weeks because most power poles will be down and transformers will be destroyed. Most trees will be snapped or uprooted and even the heartiest, if they survive, will be stripped of all leaves.
this is sounding worse and worse..

a hurricane at pat o's

REPORTS FROM AN AIR FORCE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT INDICATE THATTHE MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE INCREASED TO NEAR 175 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. KATRINA IS A POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC CATEGORY FIVE HURRICANE ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON SCALE.
----------------------------------------------------------------
new orleans is one of my favorite cities anywhere.. unfortunately, hurricane katrina looks to be headed right for the crescent city -- which means big trouble for the big easy. if you've never been, the city is all under sea level and is kept dry by a levee and canal system that protects and 'drains' the city. if this storm hits at it's current strength (175 mpg winds) there are estimates of up to a 30 foot storm surge.. which would swamp the city (literally) by cresting the tops of the levee system. there is the real possibility of over 20 feet of standing water in new orleans - with no where to drain. all of that water would have to be pumped out, since the city is under sea level. (think of a bowl, protected by levee's surrounded by the mississippi and lake pontchartrain) there would be standing water in new orleans proper for, what could be, weeks on end. every drop of water that comes in to new orleans must be pumped out. exacerbating the problem is that over 100,000 people in new orleans don't have their own transportation.. so they're stuck. this could be pretty ugly unless this thing loses some power or veers off course.. which is too bad.. i love my new orleans... love it lots.

friends of cindy...

this gift just keeps giving and giving.. the people at code pink have joined cindy in crawford.. they're taking their entertainment (see picture) to texas to say that bush stinks.. that's ironic. and it gets better - white supremacists have joined her cause. the nazi's of stormfront.org have joined cindy's cause because they want to "let the world know that white patriots were first and loudest to protest this war for israel." this just gets better and better... they want to make sure that everyone knows this war is about israel and it has been bought and paid for by "the senate, house, white house and media by the jewish neocon political machine." these quotes are from james kelso, assistant to david duke. cindy has alienated her family, been divorced by her husband, stroked out her mom and now has the klan for her buddies.. i can't wait to see the interaction between al sharpton and the hooded klan members in camp casey when they all circle up and sing kumbaya..

changing channels..

this lady get more and more kooked out every day.. cindy is now apparently 'channeling' her dead son's spirit from heaven... i didn't realize there were 'vortex' spots out there in the fields of central texas, but apparently there are.. not only has she channeled her son, but he has a message from beyond.. 'george bush is an idiot.' casey is in 'heaven' according to mom.. and the thing that he has to pass on now that he's in heaven ? g-dub is an idiot. cindy sheehan is a certified nut job. let's recap. she's already met with the president once, offering praise to him. she's called for the total withdrawal from the war on terror. she's called for israel to leave palestine. she's said she's not going to pay taxes. she said she was 'chosen by the universe..' moveon.org has now taken over her media campaign.. she is no longer 'accessible' to all of the media - all of her appearances are carefully orchestrated.. this is probably a good idea.. because in addition to the bombshell that she's channeling her son in the fields of central texas.. she dropped the bomb that osama bin laden is 'allegedly' behind the attacks of 9/11.. since this war on terror is being done for israel, i'm sure it was the jews that blew up the twin towers too.. cindy sheehan is becoming a parody of the anti-war effort of the 60's.. the far left whack job organizations who have attached to her cause further display the true goal behind this.. ben cohen of ben and jerry's ice cream is funding cindy's protest. apparently the far left non-profit organization he set up is funding other protesters as well.. This week, Simi Valley, California Gold Star wife Melanie House flew to Idaho for a protest and then flew to Crawford for another.
Reporter: "Can you tell us if you're getting help in airfare to come down here?"
Melanie House: "What difference does that make?"

Melanie, it makes a big difference.. when you're being funded for your message by these cash rich self interest groups, your message gets muffled by the payoffs.. media whore never sounded so appropriate.

we now have joan baez as well as al sharpton coming to texas to provide their support to our non-tax paying, universe chosen, spirit channelling, country hating media whore.. as a resident of texas, let me assure you that the last thing this state needs are 2 more nuts invading the state to press forward their own self image..

white picket fences..

and body bags.. please put the body in the trunk and step away from the car, sir.. so this is what dallas has come to ? this is being sold at www.charroking.com should you want your very own.. they say these are their best sellers..

"My first reaction is, it's true," Oak Cliff resident Esteban Canales said. "And I didn't think they would really make a shirt about it because I didn't think people would really try to advertise what really goes down around here."

it's a beautiful vacation spot, really..

the fat farmer..

according to pagesix.com, michael moore has gorged himself so on publicity that he is now obese.. (is that the correct term?) mikey is fat. mikey likes all the food you put in front of him.. not just life cereal..

upon closer review, on the agenda at the fat farm is 'learning to cook healthy meals' and 'life re-education.'

i think we can all agree mikey needs to focus on the 'life re-education'

the truth hurts..

an obese new hampshire woman has filed a complaint with the new hampshire board of medicine against her doctor, dr. terry bennett. the source of the complaint ?? the doctor told the large lady that she was obese.

"I told a fat woman she was obese," Bennett says. "I tried to get her attention. I told her, 'You need to get on a program, join a group of like-minded people and peel off the weight that is going to kill you.'

she was highly offended and filed a complaint. dr. bennett even went so far as writing a letter of apology to the woman when he heard she was offended..

"Physicians have to be professional with patients and remember everyone is an individual. You should not be inflammatory or degrading to anyone," said physician board member Kevin Costin.

so, this is what we've come to in this country.. we're in a spot where your doctor can't tell you you're fat when you're fat. what's next, filing lawsuits or complaints against doctors when they diagnose you with cancer ? just one more place where the truth is under persecution in america.. if you're fat, you know it, i know it, we all know it.. does it hurt to hear it ? maybe, but it doesn't change the fact you're fat. fat fat fat. file a complaint.

you've got gas..

all of my toilet humor friends will probably expect more, but i think that the $67/barrel oil prices need to be flushed.. i think this weekend you will see me trade in the trusty SUV on a toyota prius.. i've had it with $450/month gas bills.. opec is really harshing my mellow. i get to go from driving over things, carrying lots of people and stuff to getting 60 miles to the gallon.. i think i'll plant another tree in my yard so i can huggle it each morning..

grape news !!

the latest in wine preservation.. the preservo wine preservation steward - a very long name for a device that pumps air back in the bottle of wine to keep it from turning to vinegar as quickly as it normally does. why is this better than your typical 'pump preserver' you may ask ?? it's because it uses an argon cartridge to fill the bottle with inert gas so that oxidation won't occur.. you can get your very own for $99.99.. or just finish the bottle of wine the same day you open it.

cancun..

cancun is ok by me..

slackers beware..

slackers beware - sprint is coming out with new technology that will be able to track your every movement, in real time !! i know you're excited.. from GeekZone:

Sprint is launching the Sprint Precision Locator to help small and large businesses track fleets and mobile workers. The service provides a tool for dispatchers or supervisors who are monitoring a mobile workforce of a small or large company by allowing them to access interactive maps with full panning and zooming capabilities to locate a worker or group of workers without interrupting field productivity.By using the service these dispatchers can set schedules and have the application identify the location of a mobile device or group of mobile devices to ensure specific tasks are performed at designated times, create landmarks on maps that are important to the business, such as offices and warehouses, and track if an employee leaves or enters established landmarks and use text messaging (SMS) to reach a mobile worker or group of workers.Companies have access to the new service through a password-protected Web-based application. Included in the monthly fee (per user), it is possible to locate each mobile device up to 1,000 times per month, determine if a device is on or off up to 100 times per month and send up to 50 SMS messages from the application to a mobile worker per month. This location tool combines Sprint Business Mobility Framework capabilities with the application development from WaveMarket and Microsoft MapPoint Web Service, an open-standards-based development platform for creating mapping and location-aware applications and services.

russia's population crisis..

apparently our friends in russia are dying young and are having more abortions than children, according to bloomberg.com. the numbers are staggering - reportedly 1.6 million women had an abortion last year.. 1/5 of which were under the age of 18. only 1.5 million gave birth. this presents a interesting statitic.. russian population is actually shrinking..

"For every 1,000 Russians there are 16 deaths and just 10.6 births, a
gap that isn't being filled by immigrants, leading to a population decline of
about 750,000 to 800,000 a year. "

these numbers are remarkable.. shocking, really..

welcome to texas..

too stinkin' hot

pat.. pat.. pat.. pat..

well, shucks.. pat, you just can't go around calling for the assassination of world leaders.. i think we can all agree that mr. chavez is not someone who is looking to assist the united states in the war on terror, free trade or the progression of democracy.. HOWEVER, we're not here to say kill him or kill her -- especially from the pulpit. this is a mistake and hopefully the statement will be retracted. that being said, it's too late to repair the reputational damage. as a Christian leader, the world looks to you to light the path.. this time around, you've stepped off the trail.

soros-astrianism..

in my evening check on the message boards of my jamband bretheren, i became engaged with a group of folks talking about what a great man george soros is and what a worthless person g-dub is.. so i pulled up some quotes from george that i remembered running across a while back.. enjoy these snippets from this man of the people.. (from the la times - october 4, 2004)

It seems that Soros believes he was anointed by God. "I fancied myself as some kind of god ..." he once wrote. "If truth be known, I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me in trouble." When asked by Britain's Independent newspaper to elaborate on that passage, Soros said, "It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of god, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out."

His work as a self-professed "amoral" financial speculator has left millions in poverty when their national currencies were devaluated, and he pumped so much cash into shaping former Soviet republics to his liking that he has bragged that the former Soviet empire is now the "Soros Empire."

Despite his reputation as an international philanthropist, Soros remains candid about his true charitable tendencies. "I am sort of a deus ex machina," Soros told the New York Times in 1994. "I am something unnatural. I'm very comfortable with my public persona because it is one I have created for myself. It represents what I like to be as distinct from what I really am. You know, in my personal capacity I'm not actually a selfless philanthropic person. I've very much self-centered."

Soros was more succinct when he explained his life philosophy to biographer Michael Kaufman. "I am kind of a nut who wants to have an impact," he said. But the speculator's visions don't end there. "Next to my fantasies about being God, I also have very strong fantasies of being mad," Soros once confided on British television. "In fact, my grandfather was actually paranoid. I have a lot of madness in my family. So far I have escaped it."

In his book, "Soros on Soros," he says: "I do not accept the rules imposed by others ... And in periods of regime change, the normal rules don't apply." Clearly, Soros considers himself to be someone who is able to determine when the "normal rules" should and shouldn't apply.

just for the record, soros funds our friends at moveon.org and is a large contributor to the democratic party.. ($18 million to john kerry's campaign)

soros also has designs on manipulating the dollar in such a way to create an economic crisis in the united states resulting in 'regime change' we will see how that unfolds...

overwhelming insignificance..

*vomit* vomit vomit vomit vomit vomit. ok, i had to listen to the rat faced tones of barbara as a child, locked in the car on long road trips.. 'you don't send me flowers..' *vomit* aaaarrrggghhh.. but the only thing worse than barb's singing is her political drivel.. and to have her now singing her political drivel, well.. you get the point. and isn't it time for barry gibb to give up the cheesy fu-man-chu and lion mane ?? the last thing any of us need are anti-war songs from these two..

From the sun sentinal:
Streisand's Stranger in a Strange Land debuted Tuesday on a notable parcel of Internet real estate -- it's spending one week as an exclusive (and free) streaming video on the home page of Amazon.com. It is culled from Guilty Pleasures, the singer's upcoming collaboration album with Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb, who wrote and produced all the songs for the project, slated for a Sept. 30 release. The video shows Streisand, wearing an evening gown and an intense expression, singing lyrics that include "You may be someone else's sweetheart/Fighting someone else's war,/And if you suffer for the millions/Then it's what you're fighting for." The video intercuts her studio performance with footage of American troops shipping off to theaters of war past and present..

outrage..

according to multiple news outlets, a border area ranch has been given to two people who were trying to enter the united states illegally. the associated press is stating that 2 border watch members (a group looking to protect private property from illegals) pistol whipped an illegal immigrant as he and others from the patrol were monitoring a private ranch in hebbronville, texas. the lawyer, morris dees of the poverty law center, hoped this would send a message to LAWFUL LANDOWNERS not to take HOSTILE MEASURES to LAW BREAKING ILLEGAL ALIENS. good morris has decided to take the supreme court's decision that your land really isn't your land and prosecute people with legal land keeping illegal trespassers off of it.. making this more egregious was the court rulings that resulted in the forfeiture of the douglas, arizona ranch to pay for the civil settlements.

now, there once was a time in this land you'd expect something bad to happen to you if you illegally trespassed on to another man's property.. and that would be if you were a citizen of the country. now, the rights of the citizens are slowly eroding to those of non citizens. citizens are paying tax money to fund curriculum in spanish for illegals. citizens are paying tax money to fund health care for illegals. citizens are paying tax money to support the entire illegal immigration enterprise.. yet, these tax paying citizens seem to have no right to defend their property against the trespassers of non-citizens..

"If the federal government was doing its job, ranchers would not be living in fear," said Chris Simcox, president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp., which watches for illegal immigrant crossings and reports them to the U.S. Border Patrol.

i could not agree more with this.. we're being invaded and we're almost powerless to do anything about it. LEGAL immigration is fine, but this flood of non-skilled, non-english speaking poor people is going to continue to drain the resources of legal residents who hold jobs, pay taxes and obey the law..

staggering, unreported support for cindy sheehan..

the support for cindy sheehan has reached new heights. cindy, in an interview with amy goodman from democracy today, answered the question we've all been wanting to know.. just how many other military mom's are out here supporting your point of view ??

AMY GOODMAN: How many other moms are there there of
people who are in Iraq or
who have died in Iraq?
CINDY
SHEEHAN:
We have about six moms there. They're
Gold Star moms.
And there's probably -- I don't -- of women who have -- who have
children
over there right now, it's hard to tell. Maybe about the same or a
little
bit more.

well there you have it - this swarm of media attention to this woman and her cause and she has 6 moms support.. 6 moms. and if that isn't enough, in the interview she has the beautiful line stating "i'm so glad that the universe chose me to be the spark.." the universe chose her.. that's so sweet.. she may need to check in with tom cruise about that alien deprogramming.. speaking of sweet, isn't it interesting what the kharma police have done to cindy since she's chosen to drag her son's good name through the mud.. so far, just this month, her husband has filed for divorce and now her mother has had a stroke.. the universe must have not had such mighty things in store for those two..

anyway, cindy is going to continue her tour of media whores without jobs to washington DC.. she's going to join the many homeless folks there in protest of life not being fair..

if it isn't obvious by now, how this woman is using the media and being used by the media to attempt to undermine the country's will to fight this war, a war that was brought to our shores back in 1993 with the first WTC bombing.. then there is no hope. the good news is that there is hope. MoveAmericaForward.org is sponsoring a caravan in support of the troops - leaving from california - heading through arizona, new mexico and in to texas. would anyone like to place any wagers on whether they will receive any mainstream media coverage ?? will abc, cbs, cnn, msnbc, nbc have their dedicated teams to show this ???? anyone wanna make that bet ?? and do you want to bet that this movement will have more than SIX mom's or dad's who have children involved in iraq?? if we need any further evidence of media bias and the sickening basis for this bias, we're sticking our heads in the sand. it says something about the left that when something bad happens to AMERICA in iraq, it's good for them. it's good for them and their points of view if we suffer more.. if we have more attacks, more dead.. that's why there is no coverage of all of the schools open for business in the mainstream media.. no coverage of the international monitary fund's status on the iraq economy - calling the outlook for the medium term 'optimistic.' there is no positive coverage at all.. as a matter of fact, cnn has decided to run a special on the intelligence failures that led up to the war in iraq.. but oddly enough, nothing on the intelligence failures in the mid 90's that led to the rise of al-qaeda and the attacks of 9/11. so, boys and girls, understand the times we're living in-- mainstream news is unabashedly biased.. and they're paying the price for it. the lib-brah's are the elites running these outlets.. their ad revenue is down, their viewership and circulation numbers are down and the talk radio and blogosphere are reaching record numbers of people.. it's because we in the usa are sick of the blame america first crowd.. we're sick of hearing that america is all that is wrong with the world.. we're tired of having God taken from us.. hopefully we're also motivated to vote appropriately-- some of the gop lawmakers have lost their way.. they may need to be reminded of the values that brought them in to office this next time around.

bin laden to iraq for a player to be named later ??

DEBKAfile is indicating that the biggest prize in the terror free-agent market has been aquired by iraq for a player to be named later.. rumor has it that osama bin-laden will be headed to iraq in the second half of september (maybe just in time for my birthday?!?) the current general manager of iraq the iraqi terror team, abu musab al-zarqawi, said in a press release that the addition of osama to the iraqi team will assist them in a planned ramadan offensive and also consolidate the dynamic duo of terror in iraq. additionally, it would change the complexion of the conflic in iraq.. so, in essence, this would abandon any resistance in afghanistan for a larger, more direct conflict in iraq.. so, does this mean that zarqawi NEEDS bin-laden in iraq to be successful in iraq? if there were questions about iraq being the front lines of the war on terror - there is no greater example than this possibility.

scientology + oprah = love ?

wouldn't you know it.. i go to cancun for a long weekend and tom cruise and john travolta have moved in on my girl oprah.. in my attempt to wash the beach and sunshine from my brain, i looked around the news and found this. looks like cruise and travola are putting on a full court press to get oprah to cult up and go scientologist.. now what would the most powerful woman in media (or the world for that matter) need from that pack of nut jobs.. ? maybe she believes the scientologist 'detox' program will solve that little weight issue she keeps fighting.. ? i'm not sure.. but the more i hear about cruise and his merry band of misfits and their multiple levels of mojo, the more convinced i am of it's lunatic foundations.. i mean, who would ever want to deprogram all of those alien teachings that we had burned in our minds centuries ago.. ?

taking the fight to them...

in order to properly express my outrage at the illegal immigration problem, i'm going to cancun for a long weekend... there, i feel better already..

para inglés presione dos

this week we've heard the alarms being sounded from democrat governors in the border states concerning illegal immigration.. bill richardson (d, nm) first sounded the alarm - soon followed by arizona's governor. (we'll get to her later) so, finally, we've sounded the alarm that there is a problem. there is growing criticism of the bush administration for the lack of focus on the borders.. some of us in border states have been highly critical of the president for his permissive policies for some time.. but it struck me today, as the gaza withdrawl continues on the other side of the world, are we facing the same situation in the united states today ? are we not in fact ceeding the american southwest to illegal mexican immigrants ? thus far it hasn't been an armed takeover, but it is a takeover. the demographics of the border states are changing dramatically. texas is now a minority majority state. arizona and california are completely over run.. recently, on a trip to california - while driving through santa cruz, the day labor force literally took over every corner of the street. it was as if we were driving through monterrey, not a somewhat nice surfing town just south of san fransicko. and if you talk to anyone in california, they will tell you the impact illegal immigration is having on the infrastructure of the state. the story is the same in arizona, new mexico, and texas. just outside of my building in downtown dallas, i can pick up enough day labor to attack the alamo again.. so are there some parallels to be drawn with the giving away of land in israel to the current land grab going on here in our own country ?? something to think about.. appeasing one part of the population for peace in israel, for votes in the usa.

now, back to arizona's governor - janet napolitano. she has followed bill richardson's lead (nm) in crying foul on federal immigration policy. she came out recently with highly critical statements of the administration and their policy on immigration. while i agree with her assessment of the federal policy, her own policy is nothing short of dismal. if ever there was a case of throwing stones in a glass house - let's look at her record as governor. janet has vetoed bills denying in-state tuition and day care for illegal aliens.. she has vetoed legislation allowing law enforcement to enforce immigration law. she also vetoed a law making english the official state language - which would have saved the state millions by not having to have documentation in 2 languages. she also vetoed legislation that would have banned the use of the matricula consular - an easy to forge identification document from mexico as official in the state. so needless to say, janet has a ways to go to be tough on immigration.. i'm guessing this is a politically expedient experiment that she is going to take on.. the democrats may have found the republican's achiles heel.. if they actually act tough on immigration, they will steal votes from the republican party..

freedom of depress

as i make my rounds through the mainstream media, i seem to have difficulty finding any coverage on 2 issues.. 2 issues that should the shoe be on the other foot, would be covered in 2 completely different manners. first, we have media whore cindy down in crawford.. making quite a scene for herself, fueled by the continuing, almost natalie holliway-like, coverage of her plight.. i thought to myself, where are the 1000's of families who are proud of their family service in the military.. where is the voice of the majority of the military on this subject. the latest polls i've seen show that 80%+ of all military families support the action in iraq. where is the voice of the majority in all of this coverage.. we all know where it is.. it's buried, ignored. those voices do not push forward the agenda of the major media outlets.. i look at people in my generation, they are now excited to have their own 'vietnam.' they get fed, day after day, lies and hyperbole from the lefty media to fuel their hatred of their own country.. while they happily protest, call names and (apparently) not go to work.. yet, this group slides farther and farther in to the minority.. almost unaware of the people surrounding them who disagree.. but should the shoe be on the other foot, and a family were to go have a vigil supporting the war, would they get the media circus ? would they get the support and free airtime ? absolutely not. the bias cannot be more thinly veiled.

and then there is the coverage of the able danger 'coverup' by the 9/11 commission. let's think back to how quickly cbs jumped on the forged documents on president bush.. let's remember how quickly newsweek ran with the gitmo torture (false) information.. yet, you cannot find a peep about this absolutely huge development. the 9/11 commission may have purposely buried material information about what caused the events of 9/11 ?? are you kidding me ?? that can't make the news ?? if newsweek can lead with bad information and 60 minutes can have a whole segment on a forgery, cannot the able danger information warrant a peep ?? apparently not. again, it's clear what happened when the shoe was on the other foot, but when the story is beneficial for this administration, the story is buried. fortunately, the american people see through this nonsense.. the declining viewership, sinking subscription numbers and falling advertising revenue tell the story.. yet, the lefties still deal in their own skewed world view, highly averse to the truth and oh so very loud with their mouths..

the end of an era..

moment of silence please.. calcutta is banning the rickshaw.

cindy sheehan update..

news flash: apparently cindy's antics have created some more domestic tremors - her husband of 28 years has filed for divorce.. details here

happy birthday, it was nice knowing you..

70 years ago we gained social security.. since then, the car, the airplane, the television have all improved. yet social security remains the same... i'm reasonably certain no one in my generation has any hope that social security will be around for our retirement.. but then again, most people in my generation won't be around for our own retirement..

do you know me... ?

you've probably heard her name bantered about in relationship to the 9/11 commission or the 'wall' her memo erected between the fbi and the cia.. but did you know that there now looks to be a purposeful relationship between the two ?? when jamie gorelick was placed on the 9/11 commission, many around the country cried foul.. how could this clinton insider, responsible for creating the wall of communication between agencies, be invited to be on this all important 9/11 commission. it's turning out that there were some pretty specific reasons she was chosen afterall. rep curt weldon, r-pa, has found some very disturbing oversights by the commission.. it turns out that the defense department, as a part of operation 'able danger' had identified mohammed atta along with 3 of his sidekicks back in 1999. as it turns out, some of the staffers on the 9/11 commission didn't find it neccessary to pass that on to the commission.

so let me get this straight - we had identified 4 of the hijackers in 1999, and that information was not deemed worthy to put in front of the commission ?!? but wait.. it turns out the information DID make it in front of the commission and they just ignored it. now why in the world would a commission ignore such information.. commission moutpiece al felzenberg first said the commission never saw this information, and that weldon was a crackpot. then, when that wouldn't float in the face of the truth, he changed his mind to say that well, maybe we did hear this name mohammed atta.. and now it's just that the information they had did not match the timeline they had constructed for themselves.. so, intelligence that conflicted with a commission of political partisans is just discarded.. neat.

let's examine a few things that have gone on since then - we had sandy burger (former clinton national security advisor), panties and bra full of papers sneaking out with classified documents.. (sandy, who was in the pocket of the chinese and the ultimate clinton insider) we have gorelick on the 9/11 commission - and we could infer, with no proof yet, that she tried to cover up this information because of this wall she constructed between intelligence organizations back in 1995.. and how does all of that roll up ?? well, we've got burger, arranging a campaign finance deal with china and gorelick puts the wall up to, in effect, put an end in to investigations in to those 'illegal' campaign contribution issues.. and with all of the kicking and screaming from other attorneys across the land, it became policy and we end up with the infrastructure that prevented the intelligence exchange that led to... but i digress.. and we could even possibly infer a little bit more on the china side - as they have just fielded their own AEGIS warships with 'stolen' (aquired from a front company that the navy did business with during the 92-00 timeframe) technology from the usa. just what was sandy getting out of that document repository anyway ?? so we maybe, could, possibly infer that there is something more to this than a simple oversight. the defense department has these terrorists under observation for 2 YEARS and can't pass the information to the FBI due to the gorelick wall. (not only couldn't pass it, there were lawyers who became involved and told them to put sticky notes over their faces.. to forget that they even know anything about them)

this has the potential to flare up nicely, however, i don't think we'll get much mainstream media coverage as it doesn't fit as nicely in to the news directors agenda.. keep an eye on curt weldon from pa., i have a feeling he's not going to let this go.. and where it ends up, well, it could be quite interesting.

August 15, 2005

today begins the forced removal of jewish settlements in gaza. this is the first give away of jewish land since israel first became a state in 1948. unfortunately, this action will do nothing but validate terrorism in the region. israel has held this land since 1967, after the 6 day war.. and now, caving in to international (and some internal) pressure, israel is giving up the gaza strip. this withdrawl is going to result in even more terrorist attacks, even more international pressure and even more jewish land given away. this is a disasterous policy for the jewish state. they will be squeezed more and more and their borders will eventually become indefensible. the palestenains, hiding behind their desire for an equal and separate state, truely hope for one thing - the eventual destruction of the jewish state altogether. there is no desire for an on-going dialog or relations. as a matter of fact, it's already been stated no jews can live in the new palestenian state, even if they chose to do so.. yet palestenians are welcomed in to israel to do business and commerce.. stopped only due to the ongoing suicide bombings. now, as israel forces out settlers, who have come from the four corners of the earth, all of the terror groups in the region are celebrating. hundreds of supporters of the militant islamic jihad group celebrated in gaza city on sunday, with gunmen firing in the air, and teens setting off firecrackers and distributing candy. the violent hamas group organized special midnight prayers of thanks at gaza mosques.. that right there should tell you all you need to know. the terrorists are happy.. and yet another bad day for the only democracy in the middle east.. unfortunately, one of what is destined to be many bad days for israel.

shameful

this entire cindy sheehan publicity stunt is leaving me thrououghly sick to my stomach.. this woman, disgracing her son's death for her own personal political ego.. shameful indeed. the veil of her 'greiving mother' act is transparent to say the least.. and now, as if her demands to meet with g-dub AGAIN weren't enough, she's now splashing her political opinions out for all to see.. first it was the president killing her son (note the first person implication) and now it's the damn jews who killed her son.. her statement:

"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by a George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11.
We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedoms and democracy...not for the real reason, because the Arab-Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy. That hasn't changed since America invaded and occupied Iraq...in fact it has gotten worse. You get America out of
Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism"

well now we've got it, she not only hates america, she hates the dadgum jews too. now how can the only democracy in the middle east be to blame for this ? she joins the ever growing group of people who think the jews have taken over the government and are running the usa. oh, and also responsible for 9/11 and everything else.. next, cindy will be burning books and gassing folks. truly amazing.. and if that wasn't enough, more of these folks with no jobs and a furvent hate for america are showing up in crawford.. so much that the president's neighbor decided to practice up for dove season and send the peace loving jew haters scrambling for cover.. (i hear they all chipped in to hire lawyers to keep him from shooting guns on his own property.. ok, maybe i made that up, but don't be surprised if it happens..) besides, i can't think of anything much better than a bunch of lefty peaceniks hanging out around rural texas for the opening of DOVE SEASON. so appropriate.

i'm curious where the mainstream media coverage is of all the families (including her own) that support the president and support the war and support what is going on in iraq. as a matter of fact, here is an IRAQI who is telling her to shush it.

oh, and lets not forget the statements from her family:

Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son’s good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

so, the most important thing here is to understand where sweet cindy is coming from -- she wants to progress her political agenda with the blood of her poor son. sickening & shameful.. she has championed the 'stealing of the election' in 2000 cry from the left.. she is actively involved in john conyers impeachment campaign against president bush.. read her open letter to president bush:

“It has been seven months since your ignorant and arrogant lack of planning for the peace murdered my oldest child. It has been two days since your dishonest campaign stole another election…but you all were way more subtle this time than in 2000, weren’t you? You hardly had to get the Supreme Court of the United States involved at all this week...”

“... You feel so proud of yourself for betraying the country again, don’t you? You think you are very clever because you pulled the wool over the eyes of some of the people again. You think that you have some mandate from God…that you can “spend your political capital” any way that you want. George you don’t care or even realize that 56,000,000 plus citizens of this country voted against you and your agenda. Still, you are going to continue your ruthless work of being a divider and not a uniter. George, in 2000 when you stole that election and the Democrats gave up, I gave up too. I had the most ironic thought of my life then: "Oh well, how much damage can he do in four years?" Well, now I know how much you have damaged my family, this country, and this world. If you think I am going to allow you another four years to do even more damage, then you truly are mistaken. I will fight for a true vote count and if that fails, your impeachment. Also, the impeachment of your Vice President...”

“...George, I must confess that I and my family worked very HARD to re-defeat you this time, but you refuse to stay defeated. Well, we are watching you very carefully. We are going to do everything in our power to have you impeached for misleading the American people into a disastrous war and for mis-using and abusing your power as Commander-in-Chief.”

having met with her once already, (when her tune was considerably different) - why would a president want to meet with someone like this again ?? and frankly, what makes her voice any more valid than the 1000's of others in the same shoes that disagree completely with her point of view ?? her son, who volunteered to be a brave soldier, would be saddened (to say the least) to see what should be a legacy of heroism marred by the misuse of his name to champion the causes he went to defeat..

don't be fooled by her outward stance, on the keith olberman show on msnbc (total audience 4) she said that she actually didn't want the president to meet with her.. what ?!

transcript: (and thanks to the laura ingraham show for bringing this to my attention)

Keith: “It’s pure politics, the nature of the media coverage you’re getting now…From the perspective of your protest there, in a way isn’t it really better if President Bush doesn’t meet with you?”
Sheehan:I would think so, yeah.. I think it’s great. If he were to come out right now, I think it would diffuse the momentum, but I don’t want to give them any hints. And, I think that’s something they’ve probably already thought about. But, we’re here, we’re committed and we’re staying. In fact, we’re staying here the whole month of August…..”

she now doesn't want the president to meet with her ?? so why is she in crawford again ?? publicity stunt, media whore.. ok, i remember again..
